Like you solve parity on a 3x3x3. You will end up with two 2-cycles of wings. You can solve these with set-up (L' U L U) and alg Rw2 F2 U2 r2 U2 F2 Rw2.

I guess, all people solve parity at the end of the solve. (because it's not center safe)

Ok cool. I was doing something that involved two two-swaps of wings at the end so that seems better.

Can someone suggest a path I take for getting my BLD times below sub-1? I can solve it in a regular solve in about 16 seconds on average.

Method: M2 edges+old pochmann corners
Memo: Audio for edges and visual for corners
Memo time: 40-55 seconds
Average BLD range: 1:40:00-2:00:00

You can change visual memo for corners to something else (like making a short story), if visual doesn't suit you well.
Also you can learn something that solves two corners at one alg (BH or subset of BH, like TuRBo).
Though Maskow did sub-50 (maybe sub-45?) with OP for corners and TuRBo for edges.

I'm trying to switch from using audio for edges to using letter pair words/images. Is the fact that I can't make up things for things like CQ because I haven't used it that much?
This problem may be partly due to not encountering CQ enough, and simply because some letter combinations are difficult to derive anything from.

After further practice, you'll become familiar with words and images that you've used in the past, and this problem with gradually fade away. If you continue to make the words/images on the spot, it may take a while before you become comfortable with every possible letter combination. If you want to quickly eliminate the difficulty of deriving some words/images, it may be worthwhile for you to identify the letters you have trouble with (perhaps X, Q, U...), and memorise words/images for such difficult pairs.

And by the way, I would use 'cheque' for CQ. :)

EDIT: Here's a list of letter pairs.

I have a question regarding MBLD. How do people memo flipped edges/twisted corners in MBLD?I usually use audio. But I doubt that it would work if I'm going to attempt for more cubes. Can someone give examples of how to memo them? I use rooms and letterpairs/images for MBLD, so I can't use letterpairs/images again for those pieces.

I have small locations in each room for twisted corners and flipped edges, so I just put a one word image in one for each flipped/twisted piece. Also, for parity I cover the walls in blood just so I don't forget.

I think I should do what you do for the orienting pieces. I'd space out a place for those pieces but sometimes there are too many cycles that the unorient pieces reaches the location. I'll make another unique space in each of the rooms specifically for those pieces, thanks a lot. Now I know I'm heading the right way.

I use double letters for flipped edges like CC. For Corners, I use the letter of where the U/D face sticker is and the next letter is its proper U/D face position. So it would be a target like FUR->UFR which for me would be FD. I am basically just using the leftover letterpairs which may be easier than trying to hold audio for a long attempt.

My question: I am trying to get better at one syllable audio pairs so I started to make a list. What I found is that I have used multiple words for the same pairs before making the list. Is it better to stick to one word and drill the list or stick with multiple words that they may sometimes make sense of the audio by sometimes using nouns/verbs.Also,how would this affect my recall?

I'm finally quiting the full visual memo and I'm almost done with a letter pair list. But I'm completely stuck on YF. I've been looking through some other people's lists, but most don't use Y.

Any suggestions for YF? I prefer a person, animal or character of any sorts.

Can someone suggest to me what times i should be getting for my memo and execution for me to be getting sub 1 times with m2 and oldpochman??

20 memo 40 execution. Could be 25 35 if you use advanced M2 and some corner cycles. Either way you need good TPS.

I use Yuffie. But if you haven't played Final Fantasy, maybe "You're Fired"?
