Commutator 3-Cycles

Can someone help me make learning all the corner and edge commutators for BLD more digestible? I want to know at what rate you should learn these algs if you want to know them all by the end of November? And how should I go about learning them?

It's about learning commutators, not learning cycles. Assuming you know M2, start by examining all the cycles you can make by combining the UB target with another one using M2. These will be your M2-interchange cycles. You can gain a lot more cases by doing one move setups to those cycles. Then try to make cycles to BD and FU with M'/M interchanges. Again you can setup a lot more cycles to these cases. Add in 4-movers and 5-movers, and you're basically using BH. Good luck.

Hypothetical situation: Someone does 3x3 blindfolded and has always used a white cube with black stickers (instead of white stickers).

Would it be difficult for that person to switch to a black cube with white stickers? Would it be difficult for that person to solve a black 4x4 or 5x5 with white stickers blindfolded?

Thanks.

My semi*-educated guess: not too difficult

All my cubes are black but there are quite some differences in color shades and I do not find this a problem at all.
I find that I can also solve 4x4 in a different orientation as I just "transpose" my lettering scheme.

idk. I use to use white cubes+black stickers and got used to that, but now I have a black 3x3 and I'm used to white stickers+black cube, but when I do 4bld I don't have any problems (white cube+black stickers)

I use black 3x3x3 and 4x4x4 with white stickers, and a white 5x5x5 with black stickers. No problems for me.

For me, black or wite stickers just make no difference.

Okay, question. I have the urge to try my first MBLD now and i am looking for a powerful memo system. Just note i have searched the forums, looked at alot of posts, and really gone into depth with memory methods, they have all came back to the Journey method (I just can not grasp it.. I believe it's my method.)

I Use M2 and Old Pochmann, i will be looking onto more advanced methods when i feel very consistent in my BLD with this one. I use two different memo methods, one for corners one for edges. My edges is a nice pace memo and very strong and i can recall for days after. but my corners fast and i lose memo almost instantly after i have completed corners.

Do you think, i should keep trying Journey method, should i only use one memorisation pattern. Any other suggestions?

If you're memorizing all in letters, journey should work fine for you. I have a video about journey. Check my sig.

I have actually watched your video... several times, i just for some reason can not grasp it. I have also watched many other videos and looked at alot of written explanations. It just doesn't stick. Also, i memo edges in letters and corners in my own way, it's a cross between visual and sound.

P.s - I am going to watch again and see if i gain anything new.

For journey you need to use all letters, and use these letters to create concrete images. Then you imagine the images in locations and you're good. Try to be as vivid as possible.

Sorry if this question has been asked before. I registered because I couldn't find any discussion about it.
I'm unsure which method to learn for 4x4 centers: U2 or commutators. Today I did a sighted solve with commutators and it took me about 25 minutes (centers only) because I had to think a lot where every piece goes. I am quite used to the basics of commutators and I also use them to solve 3x3 BLD corners.
So is it recommended to keep on practicing to become faster or should I start with U2 and change to commutators later?
Thanks for your advice.

Like you solve parity on a 3x3x3. You will end up with two 2-cycles of wings. You can solve these with set-up (L' U L U) and alg Rw2 F2 U2 r2 U2 F2 Rw2.

I guess, all people solve parity at the end of the solve. (because it's not center safe)
