In journey memorization, how would you apply this to multi-BLD? I only have a pretty short path (house to park) so I don't know how to fit so many images into one short path? Do experienced multi-BLD cubers (like Marcell, who says he used the journey method for his 19/19) have a longer path so they can fit more images on it? Or do they just repeat the path over again with new images? Thanks.
Walk that path (in real life) more often. Pay attention to the tiny little details. These are really important. Look at the houses and buildings on the side of the street, etc. Take other walks. Use your house. If you play any video games a TON then you can use places there (one of the maps on Black Ops), just make sure that you always travel the same path in memo and recall. I use 3 different rooms for multi and big cubes.
For normal 3x3 I use my TV/Living/Family room. It has a piano, a computer, a table, a couch, a mantle, pictures, a recliner, and a large TV. I could probably use just that for multi-blind if I do 2 Letter pair images interacting per location (I have 8 locations, so that's 16 letter pair images, which is 32 letters/pieces). If I wanted I could also use the fireplace, a small shelf in the corner, another shelf in another corner, etc. The more detailed the more places you can drop off items
I think most big-multi cubers use lots of different "Memory palaces" (journeys/rooms) so that they can have everything.
I actively use 4 "memory palaces". My
family room (
32 pieces/~1.5 cubes [20 pieces per cube we'll say]), the
front hallway in my house+stairwell (6 locations/
24 pieces/1.2 cubes),
my bedroom (6 locations [usually only use 2 cause that's what I use for big-cube corners]/
24 pieces/1.2 cubes), and my
karate studio (
13 locations [It's got lot's of small details for me to put things (chairs, whiteboards, closets, shelves, racks, etc)]/
52 pieces if I really needed them all. I use this for memoing cards)
