You should only use a small amount. The core/screws should be the only things lubricated with lubix in high-ordered cubes (in my opinion). I'm sure other people will say differently.

I would actually wash the pieces or try to wipe them off as much as possible and keep using the cube (until the cube feels better). I overlubed my lan lan 2x2 and I just kept using it after trying to wipe off the pieces. It's getting slightly better every time I use it. Lesson learned: only use 1-2 tiny drops of diff oil on the pieces and don't bother lubing the core but if you want to lube the core put 1 TINY drop 2x the size of the period at the end of this sentence.
I only use Jig-a-loo =p
Also, anyone who has an extra can in Cali, sell it to me.
I need more =p
have u tried CRC yet? whats ur opinion
Im looking for a lubricant that I can buy online and ship international.
Something cheap(under U$10).
What are some good lubes?
I don't really like dry lubes anymore because it runs out too quickly for me (unless it's a rubik's or something similar). Might try it on my black lan lan that I'm breaking in though just to see if it speeds up the breaking in process so I can use it at Hillsdale.
Differential Oil is a good substitute for Lubix which is a very fast, smooth, "godly" lube. On Ebay, there are many, like thousands or even millions of results when you type in Differential oil. It only costs 4-6 dollars for a whole bottle, even more than Lubix, cheaper than Lubix, acts very similar if not even significantly felt for a difference as Lubix.
Like Traxxas?
I dont like Lubix, because it feels 'gummy'.
You too? I feel bad cause I paid $20 for it and it doesn't perform the way I want it too.
Other shock oil around 55wt I like though.

I bought a Rubik's DIY a few years ago and used on it only CRC. I made a pause in cubing and I started do get into it again a few weeks ago. Anyway my DIY is kinda crappy in this moment (a lot of lock-ups, pops, cap pops and so on) so I decided to buy all the types of cubes that have the best reviews. So I went on amazon and bought these cubes: Dayan Zanchi white, ShengEn F2 white, Cube4you brand black, and a Haiyan World Record white.
The first three are awesome, especially the Zanchi which is my favorite at this moment. As for the Haiyan, I will return it since it is a piece of crap (at least in my opinion) and would actually go for an Alpha V. Let me know if there is/isn't a big different between Alpha V and Haiyan.
Okay, so now lets get to the lube question. I know that so far most cubers use these lubrication options:
- Rubiks original lube (silicone syringe)
- Jig-a-loo (silicon spray)
- CRC (silicone spray)
- Lubix (silicone syringe)
I don't include vaseline since REAL cubers don't put crap in their cube to make it go faster.
So the question is:
What lubes to use for different kind of cube types? Does the cube color matter?
Also, can someone tell me what type is the Rubik's DIY and the Cube4you brand? (Are they C?)
Thank you all!
So, I did some more research and found out the some people use Diff and Stock oil.
Is there any difference between Diff and Stock oil?
I called a hobby shop and the guy said they use stock or diff oil for same purposes (anyway, not sure he knew much about what he was doing).
Between CRC and Jig-a-loo, which one is better in lubing and not melting the plastic?
I know CRC melts a bit the plastic for a few moments after which it kinda incorporates the silicone into the plastic.
And if we comapre (CRC, Jig-a-loo) Vs. (Lubix or Rubiks or Diff/Stock oil), which side would be better?
Thanks.
P.S: if I ordered some rubik's silicone lube from Hong-Knog, is there a chance it will not make it through U.S customs?
Does diff oil and shock oil produce strong odors? I'm worried about fumes. Is the amount of lube used so small that you don't have to worry about that? I've only used silicone sprays, and they had a bit of an odor. What about lubes that are made specially for the cube, like lubix? Do they have a strong smell?
