Thanks, but it would get kind of hard memorizing the corners this way wouldn't it?

No, it is not:
"For corner memorisation only two colours need to be remembered if the stickers are always "read" in a consistent unambiguous way, e.g always clockwise (this is detailed badmephisto's blindfold cubing video)."

each corners can be identified with two colors (I highlighted the the OP target)
smurf = blue-white (orange) corner
donald duck = white-blue (red) corner

Detail for a single corner, let's take the blue-white-orange one
Blue sticker = blue- white-orange = smurf
White sticker = white -orange - blue = snowman (lot's of white with an orange nose)
Orange sticker = orange-blue - white = something with lot's of orange and a little blue
Key to this is to always "read" the corner in the same direction (clockwise in the example)

I used to use this sytem and it works just fine.
Imoperant thing is to make your own list with words/images: 24 images is al you need.

dayan mf8: bigger and not too loose

My mini QJ is uncontrolable, it can spin a U just by putting it down...

Mine just pops if I misalign the layers even a little.

Will you be so kind to link me directly to a puzzle shop that ships for free (black cube please)? I have been of out the game for so long I feel I have forgotten everything. Thanks :-)

I use ShengShou 4x4 Version III. This cube is unpoppable, but mine has some lockups but not too much. I think it´s the best cube for 4BLD.
Also very cheap.
Unpoppable? Mine popped the other day, and I lost one of the pieces :/. It's useless now.

At the end of the vid it says he used u2 for all of the centers. I currently am using u2 for 4x4 BLD and my question is how would you do it on 5x5 and bigger cubes?

I spent about an hour trying to make the high score list on Ryan Heise's BLD sim. When I finally got a top-10 solve, I typed in 'Zane C' and clicked 'Submit high score'. Then this happens.

Does anyone here know why I can't submit my time?

I'm assuming it's pretty much the same as 4x4 centers, you just need to turn different slices.

Thanks for asking this question! It made me realize that I don't do this much (if at all) for 3x3 edges... stupid me :P
(For example I could do [xFR:RU'RURURU'R'U'R2] instead of [L2u':[UL'U',M']])

Yea, I always forget to try setup moves involving the buffer. Here's another case:

without moving buffer: y' [M, U' R2 U] y

moving buffer: F' [R, U' M' U] F

I am taking a break from 4x4 for a few days because mine is laying in pieces and I haven't had any luck reassembling it.

Aron, Rob,
as I found myself doing this in my first 4BLD attempts I wonder if you also do this in 4BLD?

Just today I used U l' - f U2 f' d f U2 f' d' - l U' to cycle UBL- LDF - UFL
I thought this is pretty nifty (or crazy...) as the first move moves both the buffer and one of the pieces to be cycled.

Are there any good alternatives for a case like this?

How do you improve your success rate apart from blindly solving over and over again (no pun intended)? I've just did 12 and only one success, but they were all very close so I'm quite annoyed.

Do you also follow certain “principles” (apart from not using D centers)?

I roughly memorize centers in a clockwise/Z-shape kind of way. And I try to avoid U centers especially if almost all U centers are already solved.

Ralph (the Dutch guy sitting at your table during lunch at the 1st day of Dutch Cube day in Eindhoven, amazed at you short image list for MBLD)

I know who you are. :P Nothing to be amazed about though. That's just a side effect of me being lazy.

I do the same as Jakube + if two pieces are on U I always use d/u as the interchangeable layer.

I want to solve my first 3x3 BLD using Old Ponchman.
I can do the 2x2 and have a sucess rate of about 1/2. Somewhere around there.
But I cant get around to the edges,
Can someone help me somehow lol
