The GAN X numerical doesn't have a screw you can tighten. You get nuts that can go from 6 to 10 mm. 6 is tighter, 10 is looser. If you have it set to 6 mm and you have the strongest springs, sell it and get a cube that suits your wishes better.

The GAN X IPG V5 system does have screws and you can tighten them like any other speed cube. But you do have to use the tensioning tool like jakelevine said.

Here's a video that will explain some more. Basically, Shawn complains about the exact same thing you complain about. The GAN X with Numerical nuts is too loose, even on the tightest settings.

I received my Gan 356 XS yesterday and am curious what settings for springs and magnets other people use? Also what lube do you find works well for the XS?

I'm trying to get my GTS3M to perform well. I have Traxxas 50k, DNM-37, Silk, and Compound X (which I'm not too fond of.) Give me your setup recommendations. I'm also trying to get the right tension and everything. Thanks!

I set the screw to be level with the top of the compression area. Then set the compression between 3-6 depending on your preferences. I live the tracks with a little Traxxas then 2-6 drops on silk into the cube. Fast and stable. Works great

I agree with @OreKehStrah on the screw tension. I personally use the 7th setting (second to highest) for the elasticity system. I lube mine with weight 5 (nearly identical to traxxas 50k) on the tracks and martian on the pieces. Silk would be great on the pieces and just drop some DNM-37 if you are like me and love speedy cubes.

I have two Gan XS's. a stickered one and a stickerless one. The stickered one feels amazing and it has incredible corner cutting, as it should. My stickerless one, however, is a bit slower. It feels like it has more friction, and more importantly, the corner cutting is really bad. Both cubes are on the exact same settings: clear thing on 4th click, light blue thing on #3. The only difference is the stickered one has just factory lube and the stickerless one has been lubed with Martian, but this has been happening since I took it out of the box. I'd really like to know how to fix this.
Here's a video showing the difference:

Tensions...
i said in my post that both cubes are on the exact same settings

Watch J perms review of the Xs
i have, he did say the corner cutting wasn’t too impressive when testing but in solves its good. this cube locks up on me like crazy, the stickered version doesn’t.

my friend has the tengyun and i’ve tried it and the magnet strength is way too weak for me. i’m still gonna get it though because it’s so amazingly quiet. thanks for the recommendation.

Tensions are different - lets say you have your cube on yellow nuts. This is compressing the screw. But how much the screw was screwed down to begin with still matters. Check it out.
this is a gan xs, there is no screw. screw depth is controlled by a blue plastic thing and there are no ges nuts, just a clear spring capsule that can be adjusted, not replaced. both cubes are on the exact same settings for both of these things.
