Another way of looking at it is a fixed center (occures in odd nxnxn cubes) will multiply the solved state by 4^6/2. That is all 6 centers in any rotation then concider parity.

Also multiply the amount of solved states by (4!)^6 for every set of non fixed centers. That is all posible permutations of same coloured centers on every face. In an even nxnxn cube there are (n-2)^2/4 sets of non fixed edges. In an odd nxnxn cube there are ((n-2)^2-1)/4 non fixed centers.

Edges and corners are always in the correct position.

This creates the formulas

n even

((4!)^6)^((n-2)^2/4)

n odd
4^6/2 × ((4!)^6)^(((n-2)^2-1)/4)

I couldn't find a one answer OH thread, so if there is one, I'm sorry...

At competitions, do you have to keep the hand that you're not using on the stackmat? Or do people just like doing that? Thanks.

You don't have to. Some people like it since there's no point in moving their hand off the timer only to then have to put it back on to stop the timer.

Ok,
I got a mini aosu.
I did around 100-150 solves then diassembled and lubed it,
I've done 175 more solves.

1. How many more solves should I do before diassembling and wiping out.?
I like my cubes with very little lube in them.
2. When I assemble the core, do the pins need to be pointed at one corner or something?
or do they just need to point at a 45 degree angle?
3. I seem to be getting catches somewhat frequently.
it seems the corner either catches in a cetner or a small internal.
I tightened the tensions and the lockups improved a bit but they are still there.
4. Should I try swapping internals with my regular size Aosu?
I heard some people tried that but I'm not sure if it's wort it.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

same thing happened to me ;-; i don't know how to fix the misalignment issues i think the pins have to be facing a certain way :(

How does 3x3 Team Relay work? When does one pass the cube to their partners? Also, why does One Move Pyraminx Team Factory exist? Thanks.

In a standard team really everybody has there own cube and doesn't begin solving until the person before them has finished. In team factory a cube (or cubes) are passed around after performing a predetermined about solving. Eg after cross, each individual f2l pair, and oll.

One move team factory for any puzzle is passed around after each team member doing exactly 1 move.

I do have trouble believing the uwr on our wiki for this event.

I did a bunch of factory solves for the first time this weekend and it was a blast. We scrambled two cubes and passed them back and forth after each CFOP step (cross, each F2L pair, OLL). I'll definitely do that again sometime.

What is mean of 3??? is it different from average of 5?

The mean of 3 is an aritmetic mean of 3 solves. Is used for big cubes because the solve takes too much.
In the average of 5 you have to do 5 solves, and your time is the aritmetic mean of the 3 solves in the middle (the best and worst solves doesn't count).

Whats the diff between mean o 1000 and average o 1000 then

In big averages, usually the best and worst 5% is ignored.

Imagine an average of 100 where you get 15.00 on every solve (because of extreme consistency), except 2 times: 59.00 because of pops.
Mean of 100 = 15.88
Average of 100 ignoring best and worst = 15.44
Average of 100 ignoring best and worst 5% = 15.00

Not trying to nitpick, just giving general info:
Individual solves are truncated, meaning cut off at the hundred (e.g. 15.999 is scored as 15.99), averages round to the nearest hundred (e.g. your ao100 example 15.449 is actually 15.45). This is how official ao5's are scored, as well.

Really don't where to ask this question but I'm going to Vietnam in a few months and I'm wondering where I can buy speed cubes in person. If there is a better place to ask this question, some redirect would be greatly appreciated

There's really no place to get speedcubes other than online, I recommend TheCubicle.us

My question: What does Global Average mean?

My question: What does Global Average mean?
It's basically what you would expect a random solve to be at any point in a session or over a long period of solves

The best way I've heard it defined is "it's the time you would tell a random person on the street that you go" so while technically I am sub-17 I would probably only say I am globally around 18 as it can take me a while to warm up (though having said that, my first solves are often a fair bit quicker than my global)

Hope this helps! :)
