Hi all,

I got stuck on this problem for a while. So sometimes after I solved two diagonal F2L pairs, I get in to a case where the orientation of the two diagonal corners in the D layer are correct, but they are permuted wrong. For example we could do M2 S2 yperm M2 S2 x2, in this case the edges in the E layer are also solved. Usually in this case I will do something very inefficient, like taking out the first corner and do the F2L, and do the other pair. I'm wondering if there is any faster solutions to simultaneously swap two diagonal corners without affecting the edge pieces or the solved F2L pairs?

My current solution to this problem is (assuming FLD and BRD corner need to be swapped): D2 (R'U'R) D2 (R'UR) (Keyhole to solve the BRD F2L pair)
U(L'U'L)U2(L'U'L) (Standard F2L alg, can be replaced)

Many thanks
Fred

Five minutes in Cube Explorer:
R2' F R2 E2 R2' F R2 E2
R2 B R2' E2 R2 B R2' E2
The last E2 can be replaced with D2 or Uw2 as you prefer.

If you have a free slot: R2' F U2' R2 U2' F' R2.
If you have two free slots: D/D' L R U2 L' R' D/D'

I solve 2x2s but can't get very far on 3x3. But, I'm trying to make my own method. Instead of doing F2L afterwards, I solve the corners like a 2x2. I want some algs that help me move edges to a desired position. I know there are already some algs on this for F2L, but those effect the top layer. Any help?

You can check the Corners First method by Ernö Rubik, is on the Speedsolving wiki.

Good luck (:

Hello, I'm developing a new method, which I have named: HVLS(Hansen Vejlø Last Slot).

I would like some help with finding all the possible cases and the optimal algorithms for them.

How the method works:
HVLS is used to orient and permute the LL corners while inserting the last slot. It should also be mentioned that the final F2L pair should be in the R U R' U' position and already constructed. Then you can finish with ELL.

What I would like help with:
I would like to use Cube Explorer to generate all the possible cases. I would also like to use Cube Explorer to then solve the case ignoring EO of the last layer.

If Cube Explorer isn't possible to use, then I'm open to try and learn to use other programs, I just prefer Cube Explorer since I have some experience with it. The part I struggle the most with is to not preserve EO.

I hope somebody can and is willing to help me with this project, thank you.

While I could write a Tutorial for you - just search for
How to use cube explorer
by Daniel Shepperd
You maybe want to try out WVCP and see if it's even worth the efford to make SVCP.
I don't personally like ELL that much but you have to see if it's for you
Also, you don't need to put that many links in your text - People that don't know that these things are also won't know how to help you.
This belongs in the One-Question Software thread

Does anyone know of (or can find) some algs that swap 2 diagonal F2L pairs,
while preserving U-corner orientation and permutation?

these can be disregarded:
M-Slice
U-Edges

Edit: here's my first amateur attempt: F B (N-Perm) U’ F’ B’
Edit2: R’ U L’ (J-Perm) U L U’ R
R’ U L’ (R U’ L U2 R’ U R U2 R’ L’ ) U L U’ R

thanks,

Rotate 1 center 90 deg
I have a problem making a cube in a cube in a cube on my 5x5. The center is disoriented. Could I get help? Cant post photo sorry

It's not possible to rotate only one centre 90 degrees. (Assuming you mean that you have a 3×3 block of centres 90 degrees off from your desired pattern, do 3-cycles to put them in the correct position, or just solve and start over on the pattern.)
