Does anybody have the 15 cc bottle of DNM? That seems like it would be really big, but maybe it’s not. Pictures?

yeah it's a big bottle. but depends on how much you lube you use and if lube dries out in your area quickly like @Nmile7300 said I think.

I have one each of the tiny bottles of DNM, mystic, and silk, and I've used one tiny bottle of dnm and silk in my past two years. I thought about getting the big DNM bottle just because it was on-sale for $9.99 (the cost of the 10cc bottle) but it seemed excessive.

Edit: is it bad I like the smell of DNM? In general I quite like the smell of silicone, lube oil, and gasoline.

A 15 cc bottle of DNM would be pretty excessive. You’d be usually adding only one (maybe two) drops for each puzzle, so you wouldn't be using a lot. A 10 cc bottle could already last you really long. But if you want your stock to last way longer, then sure, go for the 15 cc bottle.

You're not alone there. For some reason, I like to lightly sniff my DNM before adding some.

here is a 20cc lube bottle next to my Volt for reference
That's thinner than DNM though, so the DNM probably wouldn't look so big.

try compound x, it's supposed to smell like pomegranate
Also @qwr the lube thing isn't so weird but Gasoline!!!! (Also try glue I hear it causes brain damage)

Yeah, I have Compound X, it smells good. Also, I kinda like the smell of gasoline too.

Hardware store might have some weight 10-50 or 100 silicone grease in the plummers section. Might work for screw noise, but it might also make it difficult for springs to run on screws. So RC car shop is a better bet.
I have only silicone oils: 100 cSt, 1000 cSt, 4000 cSt (Thinner than traxxas 10k), 50000 cSt (Like Traxxas 50k).
The 50000 cSt is for spring noise, it is almost grease but too thin for be called that.
The 100 cSt is for speed, it is a little thicker than water. I use on tracks on slow cubes.
1000/4000 cSt I use on pieces and tracks. To make cubes turn smoother without much slowdown

So I've read many articles about which lube to buy, and I'm really confused. I want a lube that lasts long but is also good quality. I found that Lubix is supposed to be a good brand, but later found out that it was a rip-off. Would it be ok if I just went to the hardware store and bought a silicon-based lube? Does it even have to be a known speed-solving brand?
I would get any weight of silicon lube.

So a week or two ago, some people helped to decide which lube to buy. They said that the Cubicle weight 5 was the best. So I went, and it turns out, that since I live in Canada, the shipping fee was pretty high. It was nearly $30 for a 10cc bottle. Should I still buy it? If not, I found a Canadian cube shop, and this was the best rating lube:

https://cancube.ca/products/dnm-37?_pos=2&_sid=320400950&_ss=r

I checked the reviews, and I'm not sure if it's worth it. Any advice?

weight 5 is (almost) the same as traxxas 50k which is a rc diff oil. so get that.
DNM is watery and gives the cube an immediate speed boost.

I think cube lube may be sensitive to temperature and humidity? I remember seeing someone say here that DNM dried up quickly because they lived in a hot dry place like Arizona. So I did an experiment: I put my RS3M 2020 with mystic and dnm in it into my bathroom while I took a shower. Afterwards the cube definitely felt faster and slicker. After a few hours the cube slowed down again, though if I warmup the cube with some solves then it gets faster again.

Also, is lubicle silk supposed to come in a needle tip or a dropper? I have always seen in in a dropper, but mine came as a needle tip.
EDIT: I meant cubicle labs silk

If it’s Lubicle Silk, then it’s old. It hasn’t been made since TC rebranded it as Cubicle Labs Silk. My Cubicle Labs Silk came in a dropper, but I don’t have anything to compare it to, since I’ve never had Lubicle Silk.

I feel like this is a pretty dumb question, but is it alright to use two different silicone lubes in the same puzzle? I use weight 5, but I need to slow it down more with gravitas but I don't know if there's any negative "chemical reaction" that I don't know of that will make my puzzle feel weird.

You can mix silicone with no issues.
many mix 10k and 50k to get something like 30k. I have 4 different rc car oils I mix and match to my liking.

Hey all, Beginner here, and I'm using Cubing Out Loud's Saxophone lube.

Question 1: Feels sticky at first then that goes away after a few solves. Is it drying out that fast, or is that breaking it in?

Question 2: I'm new and my turns are going to be slow no matter what, does it matter what I use, as long as I use lube? Within reason I mean, lubes that are meant for cubes. (Silicone on any piece, water away from metal etc)

I'm trying to figure out if I need to buy more than just the Saxophone, or if that only matters when I'm actually fast. I'm guessing all lubes are the same at a snails pace.

Question 3; Does anyone know if there are any direct comparisons from each of the Loud Lubes to other known lubes? I see lots of descriptions for other lubes, but not much on the Loud Lubes.

I think their lubes deserve a thread of their own. This is different from the SCS vs theCubicle thread and the Lubrication thread. This thread is specifically made to get community opinions on SCS and theCubicle lubes. I'll start:

theCubicle has:
DNM-37
Silk
Mystic
Gravitas
Compound X
Celeritas
Dignitas
Lubicle Speedy
Lubicle Black
Lubicle 1
Weight lube

SCS has:
Seasonal cosmic lube
Martian
Lunar
Galaxy
Nebula
Cosmic
Comet
Vortex
Speed Lube

To be honest, I'll have to give it to SCS becuase their lubes are cheaper and they have so many cosmic lubes. My favorite lube is Martian, because it speeds up your cube, and also adds that smooth and slightly gummy feel. It doesn't take away too much control, either. Seasonal lubes are always welcome. Samplers are also great because it's cheaper than the regular price and you can experiment with different lube combinations. A lot of theCubicle's lubes are the equivalent of SCS lubes, but they are more expensive and I like SCS lube bottles more.

Please post your opinions in the replies.

Actually, you use less drops of theCubicle's lube comparitavely. But can someone tell me, which lasts longer, SCS or theCubicle lube? If you put more drops of SCS lube but they last longer, it evens out. Also, I am considering Lubicle 1, does anyone want to share their thoughts on it?

Which lubes are good for the core? I'm thinking weight 4/5, SCS Vortex, Lubicle black, Max command, and Adheron Heavy

I quickly made a lube doc to expose people to lubes that they may have not heard of
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rMV3i4Bv0482wff1-EbGRujzRdBpjxV33KUGKSLxs0U/edit?usp=sharing

I actually found out that SCS lube does not last as long. But, they sell Vortex, Comet and weight lubes that last longer, about as long as Cubicle lubes. They still use up more drops of lube each time though. So, Cubicle lubes win for value. Now, can we talk about performance?

Lube performance?
Sales performance?
Customer service performance?
Shipping performance?
Community engagement/contribution performance?

Edit: I apologize @AlgoCuber @qwr , I didn't really read the title completely.
