You need to break into a new cycle, this is done by shooting to any unsolved piece and continue solving from there. So your next corner in the cycle could be UFR, followed by DBR > RFD > LDB > and back to UFR. Then 2 corners remain twisted.

Ok, so a different choise could result in less twisted corners? If you see this, do you go back and choose a different cycle to start?

No, you better stick with it as it won't matter much, at the end you'll solve the same number of cycles.

What I do when breaking into a new cycle using OP is the following:

- if RFD is unsolved, I shoot there, as you need no set up moves there
- if RFD is solved, then I shoot to an easy one unsolved (RBD, FDL, DFL or UFR, one-movers)
- if all are solved, then I shoot to whatever unsolved sticker that goes first in the alphabet.

This is good to get used to as if you forget your corner memo during execution, following a pattern will let you continue sometimes

twisted corners are a different matter, they're there from the begining (no matter how you cycle the pieces) I solve them last and there are algs out ther that let you solve a couple at once

No, the 2 twisted corners are to be dealt with separately, those 2 corners will remain twisted until you fix them at the end. There's no reason for twisted corners to influence which unsolved piece you choose to break into a new cycle. Regardless of which unsolved piece you choose to break into a new cycle, those 2 corners will still be twisted at the end.

What's the best tutorial for 4BLD (U2/r2/OP)? I've found ender9994's, Corey Sakowski's, and Dan Sheppard's, but I don't know which is best.

Edit: just seen that Dan's is for comms, so which of the others is best? (or another one that I didn't find)

Watch them all. Seriously. But I learned from Daniel's edges and ender's centers (didn't know about corey's at the time.)

Okay thanks, I'll do that. Hopefully I'll get the time to sit down for a few hours in the next few days and get to the point where I can at least do it all sighted.

How do you review 4x4 bld memo? I think I am going to start since I have 12 DNF's so far.

I memo centers and review centers then memo wings and review centers and wings then memo corners and start solving :)

MY QUESTIONS:

My memo times are usually 15-20s and execution times 30-40s on a normal solve. So about 33% memo and 66% exec.
So my question is: Are those percents "normal"? And what percents do other people (around my speed or faster) have?

Also good algs for: DF->UL->RD?

I would say majority of people around your times takes more then 33% of time for memo, so exec. is probably your major problem now... On the other hand, I myself have usual time for memo 12-16 and exe around 22-30, so for me, its similar...

That sounds about normal to me. I am more consistent with memo time than execution, but I have percents about the same as yours.

I like y' U'R2U' M UR2U' M' U2 y
some other ideas because I don't know what would be best for you and I don't use a DF buffer
xR2ER'U'RE'R'UR'x'
[b': D, M'UM]

yours is not bad if you can think of it as M2 quickly.

Yeah, I think of it as M2... That's what I still sometimes do too much and used to do much more, because I used M2 for so long.
But I really like that first alg of yours (especially because I can do the last U at the same time as the last y) and now I feel stupid for not seeing it myself :fp
