I agree with Ryan, too much thinking, and BLD is about 1 best attemp of any, hopefully you wont need to open new cycles. And is hard to get used to a completly new group of comms
its maybe interesting for big cubes

If I'm using TuRBo for BLD edges, how do i solve when there is an odd number of edges to solve, say 11, what happens if there are 2 edges (last two) that need to shoot to each other, how do i solve them?

i know that if there is parity i'll just set them up to a PLL case to solve, but what if there is none?

im learning bld and i can do it fine, but i was unaware of the upside down t perm. can someone tell me a good alg for it and what it switches

thanks

If you have 2 edges swapped, you can break into a cycle and solve like you would with any other cycle.

Do you mean what if there's no PLL alg that will fix the parity? There always will be, the most moves you'll need to set up the last edge to an R or Z perm is 3.

I'm also unaware of the upside down T-perm. Why don't you just solve with the normal T-perm?

Hi , i just got into BLD (old pochmann). Very slow times, and to be honest i dont care very much about them. But i have a problem with the memo. I do edges first followed by corners. I use that basic coding system where we assign a letter from A to X to each sticker for both corners and edges. So now i just go over the edges, and the 10-14(roughly) move sequence gets memorised. Then when i try to remember something same for corners, i get successful in memorising corners but forget edges. Do you guys have any suggestion for this ? will it go away with practice? I dont have a good memory as such, if i try to memorise edges for a long time, then it takes around 3-5 minutes to memorise so that i dont forget them when i m done with corners. Should i try making weird stories out of it? (precisely i can memo+solve corners on an average in sub 2:30 minutes and memo+solve edges in sub 4 minute. When i combine the two, i take more than even 10 minutes :fp )

memo takes time to get good at
when i started to BLD i was almost always over 15 with memo and execution after a few weeks it should start to improve
im currently at 5 minute avg
as for your memo problem im not sure how to help but i memo corners visually and edges with either letters or words
i tap each corner in the sequence and in about a minute my corner memo should be done

Yep, it's better not to use the same objects for both edges and corners because it's too easy to mix them up if you do. If you want to keep on using letters for edges, then use numbers or images or whatever you feel convenient for corners.

Is there anything specific I should be doing while practicing to speed up visual memo? I memo corners by tapping and trying to come up with neat patterns. It's usually effective, but if the corners don't have any significant pattern, it takes me up to a minute to memo them. I just can't seem to get faster with visual. I use letters for edges and i can notice a difference when I practice. But I can't 'feel' or see any difference with corners.

hmm with more practice you will, at least I did
btw I agree with Sakarie
but if you use OP maybe you should change your memo method to letter pairs for example

is anyone with pure visual sub 1 yet?

I'm pretty sure Rowe was pure visual, at least when he first cracked sub-1. As I recall, pure visual was considered the only way to go back when people were first starting to go sub-1. At that time, most people seemed to think other methods were too slow to get sub-1 with.

I've recently wanted to start getting into bld, I've watch a few of Eric's video's but have now started learning from badmephisto's 30min video.
I've watch the whole thing once but plan to again soon, I know the algs already (Except R, which I'll learn soon.) But I'm finding it really hard to memo everything. I'm planning on first using letter pairs according to colours for edges and possibly making stories for them (If anyone has words for the letter pairs that'd be great) then maybe just using numbers 1-8 for corners. How does this sound?
