It starts in the top left corner, so A is in UBL, E is at FUL, I is at RUL, M is at BUL, L is at LUL, U is at DFL and it goes clockwise.

Using Speffz it seems a pity you miss out on a and e for Old Pochmann corners. I've only just started blindsolving. Is it worth changing it up so a and e are on the D face, and the ones unused on the UBL corner are less common letters?

I'm confused, for me A is on the top face, and E is on the front face. Does Speffz have A and E on the Buffer?

EFGH should be on the L face. The order of faces is ULFRBD, but there seems to be some confusion. What are your buffer pieces? And are you using OP for everything? Write out an example solve so we know what you can and can't do

Ok, I tried to do an example solve, but it completely failed. Buffer is A, N, and Q for OP corners and D, and I for OP edges. So UBL, BUR, and LUB are the the 3 sides of the corner buffer. UR, and RU are the 2 sides for the edge buffer. Also if it helps I use the same leter scheme as this guy.

Do you mean BUL? Also just do some corners only solves where you write down the memo on paper and then solve it with your eyes open letter by letter so you can see where you go wrong.

Now the scramble B2 D2 F2 D2 F2 L2 R' U2 R' B2 L' U' L2 R B F' L2 U F' U F' you posted earlier.
With your lettering scheme this scramble is:
T S W (correct so far)
next letter should be M but you have J that is on the correct piece but wrong orientation so this causes one corner piece to be in correct place but flipped.
Then we have a cycle break and everything goes nicely. You choose to start new cycle from D sticker.

NOW THIS NEXT STICKER IS CAUSING MOST OF THE PROBLEMS! You have a sticker that should go to DFR location so letter V in your lettering system but instead you have memoed U for some reason.
And the next piece also goes wrong because of this. (I mean you should memo R as you did IF you had memod V correctly but now you memoed U instead so this is "wrong" too)

The last 2 letters are correct for flipping the last edge.

And that's how you will end up with 3 correct corners (DBR DBL and UFR) and one flipped (UBR)
Also obviously buffer is flipped because 1 corner cannot be flipped only...

So conclusion: You just memoed 2 letters wrongly(U should be V and J should be M). Try to be more precise. And if you want, post another example scramble with your memo and I can give you comments on that as well

TuRBo edges important questions

Hi guys, how do you remember and execute flipped edges using the turbo method? and also, should i solve edges first? I heard that parity is difficult when you solve corners first. I am sub3 with old pochmann and i am switching to turbo(can solve it with open eyes with turbo)

cheers, billy (sry for my bad english :p )

I set up 2 flipped edges to either UF and UB, or UF and UR. Do (M' U')*4 U' (M' U')*4 for UB, or Rw U R' U' Rw' U2 R U R U' R2 U2 R for UR
Or use old pochmann to flip them.

For parity with corners first, execute your last target with old pochmann, then do a J perm (R' U L' etc).

Do you guys think it's possible for a nub like me to learn (and get a success) in 4BLD and 5BLD in a month? I understand M2, although I don't currently use it in my 3BLD solves, and from what I understand, a lot of 4BLD and 5BLD draws from the M2 method with U2 and r2.

Sure. I think it took me about 9 days to go from not knowing how to do 4BLD to getting a success. For 5BLD you just need to learn how to deal with parity. The + centers work the same as x centers from 4BLD, just different buffer and helper (for U2 method).

Success might take a while just because there are more chances to mess up.

To be honest it's possible for you to get a 4BLD and 5BLD success this weekend, if you're a fast learner.

Blindfolded isn't easy, but the best tutorial is Noah's.

What would be a good execution time for M2 edges? sub30? sub25?sub20? I have started 1 day back and averaging around 40 seconds
Are here people who have achieved the latter(sub 20)?

Just did a few edges only solves, my exec time varies around 20-25 seconds. I use M2 with progression for some cases, and I'm sure you will start doing too if you get comfortable with it. I average around 1:00-1:10 now with my sucky 3OP corners, so I guess you should comfortably be able to get sub 1 with sub 20 exec times for edges.

What do you do when you get a bunch of twisted corners that are already located correctly? I just had 4 twisted corners and it threw me...my normal memo doesn't usually have to deal with this.
