What is a good way to organize the cubes in multi?

My biggest attempt so far is with 7 cubes, and I put the cubes on the table like this:

3_4
1_2__5_6__7

Then I memorized 1-4, reviewed them, memorized 5 and 6, reviwed those two, memorized and solved the last cube like a normal BLD and then solved the rest in normal order 1-6.

Is this a good way to go with attemps of this size and bigger?

Depends how comfortable you are with your memo system I suppose :)

I suppose the main point is that it's all about finding a comfortable system that 1. Ensures you get all the information comfortably and correctly in, whilst 2. not wasting time reviewing something unnecessarily. Try memorizing and reviewing in various combinations. Some examples of how I memorize in a spoiler for you:

For 7 cubes I would: memo 1 and 2, review 1 and 2, memo 3 and 4, review 3 and 4, memo 5 and 6, review all, solve 7 like a 3BLD. As a 'safety precaution' I would solve 5 and 6 after the 7th cube, then go on to 1-4.

If I wanted to do larger attempts (21 for example, where M is memo and R is review) - M1+2, R1+2, M3+4, R3+4, M5+6, R(All)...Same system up until cubes 11-12 when I will review cubes 1-12. When I get to cube 18 I will R13-18 (since I've already reviewed the first 6 cubes three times now!) My memorization time for this is around 30:00 at home now.

As a tip, I like to single out cubes that I feel I may have problems recalling later on during execution (especially with twisted corners/flipped edges) and go over them once more, perhaps doing something silly with it like biting one of the corners or acting out the memo.

And when you get fast don't do what I did in my last attempt and just review what's in your head - actually re-read the cubes during reviews to check they're correct :P or you'll find half your cubes are wrong!

I use images for edges but I sometimes blank when I try to think and so I just use audio sometimes. Should I switch because I already use audio for corners?

For me audio is much faster than images so I use it on the edges. Memo corners first - just a small amount of images to remember. Then memo edges with audio - might be a little too much remembering but when you begin solving the audio gets shorter and shorter so you only have to remember a lot of audio only for a short while. Then solve corners using the images which should have stayed pretty clear in your mind if you finished with the edges fast enough.
So basically Image corner memo - Audio edges memo - Execute edges - execute corners.

@ Omer

I use your method, but sometimes I trouble remembering my corner images after my edge exe. Does this just come with practice? Do you have a predetermined list of images?

Also, is it better to memo fast and then review, or memo slower with no review?

I try to have one part of my image that I use as a sort of keystone. I choose the most important image and build the rest from that one. That way if I need to remember, all I need to remember is that one, and I'm good.

I recommend going slow and not reviewing, and if you must review, just review the one part of the corner memo that will make you remember the rest.

Getting to edge comms

How do you guys do your M's

Right now I awkwardly use my forefinger to push it down from BU

Just curious

Right now, sub 1:10 gets you into the top 100, but I'm hoping that not too long from now it'll be sub-45.

It seems like there's not enough overall interest for it to get sub-45 very fast. Perhaps in a few years. But sub-minute will be necessary to get in top 100 very soon. I really need to start practicing again, before it's too late.

y' U2 R2 U' [M'] U R2 U' [M] U'

and

x2 y' U [M'] U R2 U' [M] U R2 U2 y x2

Thanks! They fill out some empty spots in my excel spreadsheet :D I only use some commutators so far (Using M2) But I'm going to learn the DF->FU->xx and DF->BD->xx cases and their inverses, since they are the worst for M2. Just couldn't find a good solution for that one

Yeah, they're the worse to try and 'memorize.' They're just set-ups to y' U R2 U' [M'] U R2 U' [M] y with cancellations :) If the rotations are too horrible on that second alg try (z' B) [M] U R U' [M'] U R' U' (B' z)

Re: One answer BLD question thread blind

Hey guys, recently I have decided to put some effort into 4 BLD. I feel confident in my order, memo and methods. I understand comms, but I can never seem to get centers right. Does anyone know any good resources I can read/watch regarding centers? Just too are if it helps.

Check out Daniel Sheppards 4BLD tutorials on youtube :)
