B4e) The competitor may remove and don the blindfold until he applies the first move to the puzzle.

After you have done moves you are not allowed to re-don the blindfold.
Therefore you cannot fix the twisted piece.

5b4) For blindfolded events a puzzle defect may only be repaired during the solving, and must be done blindfolded. Penalty: disqualification of the solve.
B5c) The competitor may remove the blindfold before stopping the timer, but after removing the blindfold no moves must be applied to the puzzle anymore. Penalty: disqualification of the solve.

B5c doesn't say I can't re-don the blindfold, and fixing a piece isn't a move. Therefore, I can according to the regulations. However, this looks like a very grey area to me, so there may be an unwritten rule concerning this.

You're right. B5c doesn't say this. The regulation I quoted, B4e, does. It says that after you have applied your first moves you cannot don your blindfold again.

Therefore, I can according to the regulations.
No you can't.

I think ThomasJE means that you solve the entire cube with the pop, put off your blindfold, take out an edge and push it right. You don't make any moves (taking out an edge is not a move), so why not?

But if it was permitted, then everybody could just disassemble their puzzles after bld and assemble it right - you don't do any moves after your blindfold is put off, right?
So it must be forbidden.

That's exactly what I meant. Although for your other point, there are a ccouple of rules that say you can't make it easier to solve and you can only take out 4 pieces AFTER a pop.

5b2) During the repairing of the puzzle, the competitor must not intentionally make the position easier to solve than before the defect. Penalty: disqualification of the solve.
5b3) If after repairing the puzzle, but still during the solve, the competitor notices that the puzzle is unsolvable, he may disassemble and assemble max. 4 pieces to make the puzzle solvable again.

You don't understand.

You can remove your blindfold at any time. However, you cannot put the blindfold back on after you have made moves. If you take off your blindfold, see that a piece is twisted, you are not allowed to put the blindfold back on, because you have already made moves in your solve. Because you cannot put the blindfold back on, you cannot repair the puzzle.

An alternative explanation is that repairing the puzzle can only occur "during the solving" (ie., "during the solve" phase) (see: 5b4). B4d says that the competitor may not look at the puzzle during the solve.

I cannot believe that I am explaining this.

Did you try that scramble from x-colo-x's video in the Blindfold Accomplishment Thread? It was very nice; I'm guessing that if I could sub-50 it, you could too.

I got a 1:00.607. I'm only good at lucky scrambles if I don't know they're lucky it seems.

So now according to qqtimer I have a crazy Mo3:

1. 45.570 lucky hand scramble
2. 52.994 legit (video posted in BLD accomplishment thread)
3. 1:00.607 that scramble

How would big cube BLD solvers solve a 3 cycle (wings) with two pieces that are in the l-slice, but opposite each other? For example: DFr -> UFl -> DBl?

Normally I would set up UFl to DLf and DBl to UBl and use a commutator, but I think there's an easier/faster way to do it somewhere.

(Sorry if my notation is incorrect)

For that particular case I do B' L y' as setups and then do [D' r' D, R2]; it's a really fast alg after the setup moves. (I hope I got that right - I don't have a cube in front of me to try it with.)
