A Bochuang, but i dont think it really matters. How to you lube the pieces?
Just put a line along an edge and/or a corner, just like with a 3x3. It gets everywhere when you work it in so it doesn't really matter all that much where you put it.
What I generally do is I put some on an outer layer piece and some on an inner layer piece, just so it gets worked in faster.

As for Maru, I just occasionally put a couple drops between a layer.

Ok, thanks!

So I'm all but stumped by my Gans Air.
I set it up with the yellow springs tensioned flush with the end of the spokes, a regular amount of Lubicle Speedy, and Maru, and it was friggin' amazing. Yesterday morning, though, it just randomly became very slow and the corner-cutting was abominable, so first I tried putting a couple drops of Maru in it and that did nothing, then I decided to clean it out and set it up again.

Since then I've cleaned, re-lubricated, and re-tensioned it three or four times trying different amounts and whatnot, and it's the same every time. There's an insane amount of friction between the pieces and when I turn a face I feel inconsistent resistance like it has randomly spaced magnets repelling each other (not like a magnetic cube). It's like a less severe version of what happened when I accidentally put knife oil on a Zhanchi.

I'm getting very frustrated by this, I love the Air and I just want to have it like it was ;-;
Anybody have any ideas?

don't know much about airs, but maybe you could try a different spring color?

I have a dayan zhanchi ar my main (i know still) i tried to lube it with silicone spray but it just turns really slow and Sandy with it. I want to buy some traxxas 50 k or something like that to lubricate, I've been searching for it everywhere and I can't find it, does anyone know where to buy it?

If you're in the US (Not sure about elsewhere): https://www.amazon.com/Traxxas-5137...F8&qid=1479412248&sr=8-1&keywords=traxxas+50k

TheCubicle.us also sells it in syringes, it's under "Lube/More Lube."

Can anyone tell me what's going on with my Yuxin blue? I got the cube yesterday, did the spring swap, and set it up. I use Cubicle weight 5 for my 4x4's. The lube is still gummy and I've been turning it constantly to break the lube in. When I turn it for a while, the lube gets really fast and the cube feels/turns amazingly. Then, if I let the cube sit for a while the lube sets up again and the whole thing gets really gummy and heavy until I turn it for a while again. Is this normal? I don't remember it happening with my other 4x4's...

That's very normal. Usually it becomes more consistent the more you break it in, though how long that takes does depend on how much lubricant you put in it.

Cool, thanks for the reply. Yeah I might've just overdone it a little with the lube this time around. If it doesn't improve I'll just wipe some of it out.

Is there a video showing how to lube and setup a Valk 3? Kind of like how CrazyBadCuber did one for the Zhanchi a long time ago? (Why doesn't he do more, actually?)

I found this one, but not sure if others can back it up as being good. And I'm not going to use 3 types of lubes on it. I have Traxxas 50k, and it's been good enough for every cube I've had so far.

Basically, I got the Premium Valk 3 from Cubicle. The lube lasted less than 100 solves, and the pieces feel like they are grinding against each other. Core still looks lubed, though.
Maybe it's too tight. Guess I'll play with the tension and feel it out, while I wait for a response.

Thanks.

It's my understanding that the Valk 3 has a reputation for being fantastic out of the box, I've seen a lot of people just not set it up at all.
Also, The Cubicle's premium cubes are known to not require re-lubrication for quite a while, so if it's that bad it might be a good idea to ask The Cubicle directly about it.

As for how specifically to set it up, that's something you have to figure out. All but one of my 3x3's are set up pretty much the same way, the exception being my Gans Air (it's really touchy about thicker silicone lubricants), so it's not like you have to have a unique setup for each cube. I recommend you set it up the way you've set up your other cubes, and adjust it as needed.

As for lube, I recommend you get some Maru and/or Silk at least. Traxxis 50k is fine, but certain lubes change the way the cube feels in certain ways, and what you use to lubricate the cube is half the setup.

Awesome, thanks for the response. I did hear the same about not needing to touch Premium Valk 3 after receiving it from Cubicle, which is why I was surprised at this. It's not enough of a big deal for me to complain about it or anything.

You're right, I should just set it up the same way I did my ZhanChi and GuHong. I just loosened the tension a bit (closer to how I have my other cubes), and it's miles better. I'm guessing they just had it on too tight.
