Hey guys,

Which F2L alg do you use for the 16th case?
http://algdb.net/puzzle/333/f2l

I learned a really bad one (for me at least), and now I'm hesitating between two:

* R U' R' U2' (F' U' F)
* U F (U R 'U R') F' (R U R')

In the first case, I got some trouble passing from the U2 to the F'. Now I use my thumb and it's better. However, some youcubers use the second one (it's not listed on algdb.net) and it's a more comfortable, but a tad longer.

Which one would you recommend?

The second *is* listed on algdb. If you click on the case, it shows alot more algs. Just scrolling through the link you posted will only show the most common algs.

Didn't notice the image was a clickable link, lel.

Thanks for your remark :)

I need an alg that cycles three corners. Set Up:
U' R' U' R U' R' U R' D' R U' R' D R U2 R U' R U R' U2 R U R' U2
( Sorry for the long set up, I don't know how else to get to this case).

Is there an alg that inserts the pair and solves the corners? The edges don't have to be solved, just still oriented correctly.
Setup: (Jb Perm) U' R' D' R U R' D R

Like, solves CP and CO? You could put the F2L corner at UBL and do the non-conjugated Y perm that is used for Old Pochmann in 3BLD

R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R

which, again, is just a Y perm without the first and last F/F' moves

Does anyone know of (or can find) some algs that swap 2 diagonal F2L pairs,
while preserving U-corner orientation and permutation?

here's a 14-move alg (for Roux) to do that: R2’ F2 R (U r' F2 R F')2 R
or for CFOP... add this to the end to fix the cross: U' M' U2 M'

also for CFOP: R’ U L’ (J-Perm) U L U’ R
R’ U L’ (R U’ L U2 R’ U R U2 R’ L’ ) U L U’ R

For those who don't know, there is a FB group for Alg Searches which you can find here:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/361282697377249/

Feel free to use this thread to find algs, or if you prefer FB, use that group. The issue with FB is the lack of search and organization. This thread has proved popular of the years but has slowed due to people moving to FB and reddit. Just wanted to share this info here in case people are looking for more resources.

Copied from that group:
Programs:
Cube explorer 5 http://kociemba.org/download.htm (for 3x3x3)
Megaminx LL: http://hem.bredband.net/bunker7/llminxsolver-10.zip
ksolve+ : http://mzrg.com/rubik/ksolve+/ (for everything else)

A list of best cubing algs by Chris Olson:

Besides this pure flip:

(M' U')3 U’ (M U')3 U’

Is there a nice alg to orient 2 opposite edges on U (like OLL Case #77)
but with this criteria:

positions of any midge can change
UL and UR need to stay positioned and oriented
DF and DB are already oriented

so after the alg, the L4E just need to be permuted

thanks!

U' S R' F' R S' R' F R U

No need for the M' U2 M in front if you're going to permute L4E afterwards.

good thought, xyzzy! thanks.
that takes it down to a respectable 10 moves.

But I'm not excited about the S/S' in there, but i'll take what I can get.
Converting them to M/M' doesn't do much for me, either.

d' M F' L' F M' F' L F d

S moves are great though!

Anyway, the alg I use for pure opposite flip is R u R U R' u' U' R2 U2 R U' R' U' R, so that's something else to try. (You'll have to surround it with U/U' moves to flip UF and UB instead, but for UF/UB flip I'm pretty sure the alg Underwatercuber posted is faster.)
