For the f2l case below:

Looking for an algorithm that inserts the pair into its slot but makes use of the adjacent empty slot. Preferably rotationless algs but all are welcome.
thanks for the help.

Has the cube ever been disassembled? Because I don't think that's a possible position.
I use the second purely because I'm most comfortable in 2-gen. I don't know how many people use the first, but I know lots of people like left sune then right sune or right sune then left sune for this case. Your first shift looks like a cyclic shift of that to save a move, but at the cost of an awkward L move at the end.Hi guys,
This thread is meant for people who are trying to choose between algorithms for any case. Just post the case and wait for somebody to tell you the best algorithm for it.
Me first:
Which algorithm to use for this ZBLL case:

1. L U' L' U2 L R U R' U R U2 R' L'
2. (U') R U R' U R U2 R' U2 R' U' R U' R' U2 R
What about this one?I use the second purely because I'm most comfortable in 2-gen. (U) R2 U R2 U R U' R' U R2 U2 R' U R' U R U' R'What about this one?

1. (U') R U R' U R U' R2 U' R' U' R U R' U' R2 U2 R
2. R' U R U2 R' U' R U' R U R' U' R' U' R U R U' R'
3. [U'] R U' R' U' R U2 R' U2 R U2 R' U2 R U R' U R U' R'
I use the inverse of the third. Not because it's good, but because I stumbled on it while trying something with another alg and haven't bothered learning anything better. What about this one?

But what would you recommend?I

You can just use a center rotating algorithm, like M E M' U M E' M' U' to rotate the U and R centers 90 degrees each, or two T-perms to rotate the U center 180 degrees.Using a 7x7x7. I am aware that the technical term is not parity, please do not nag on that. The sides of the center keep switching when I use the (Rr)2 B2 U2 (Ll) U2 (Rr)' U2 (Rr) U2 F2 (Rr) F2 (Ll)' B2 (Rr)2 algorithim. Thank you!
Thanks, but it is not rotating, the two rows of the center on either side of the middle line are swapping places. You can just use a center rotating algorithm, like M E M' U M E' M' U' to rotate the U and R centers 90 degrees each, or two T-perms to rotate the U center 180 degrees.
