That's my problem, though. The two solved pieces are not in an "L" or a straight line. This is the top view. "C" means "correct piece". "I" means "incorrect piece".

Just ignore the corners. In the beginner's method they don't matter at this stage. Look at the edges that have the U colour facing up. Hold the oriented edges in an L facing the left then do F (R U R' U') (R U R' U') F'.

I'm sorry but what's the "U" color?

EDIT: OH! I know what you're talking about. What I'm saying is in the case of that the "U"color (or third layer) is not in an "L" or straight line, what algorithm do I use? Just to clarify: My 'U' color is yellow in the picture.

EDIT: Ah... I got it now. Thank you!

Starting from the case below but assuming the pair needs to be inserted NOT in the FR slot, but in the BR slot, anyone have any good rotationless algs

Right now I'm inserting the classic intuitive way by breaking up the pair, but I'm looking for other options.

Wrong case :) I use R2 U' R' U R U' R for the one you're thinking of.

Mine solves the same case than sqAree and Bindedsa. What you give here is just a U' away from that case so you only would need a U at the beginning to solve the case you asked for. Maybe there's something I'm missing here. Also it doesn't seem that the 2nd alg by Bindedsa solves the same case. All this from just doing the algs backwards and seeing where I start from.

Does anyone have an alg for a skewb case?
to set it up, do (in fixed corner notation) L R' L' R L R' L' R L R' L' R y2 (then in sarah's notation) Sledge, another sledge, y, sledge, another sledge

R U R' U L' U L? (FCN)

I don't have a skewb right now but I think this is what you mean

edit: owait nevermind
here's what it should be:
(L R L' R')3 (FCN)
