So I have been cubing since January or February 2015 and have been using the beginner's method ever since. My record time is 35.81 seconds on a GuoGuan YueXiao. I want to make actual use of my speedcubes and learn a faster method. Can you guys tell me what the best method to solve faster times is and give me a link to a tutorial? Thanks!

You can use either CFOP, Roux, or ZZ

CFOP is a method built off of what you already know (building a cross, solve the first 2 layers, orienting the last layer, permuting the last layer). There is a good tutorial on badmephisto's site: http://badmephisto.com/guide.php

Roux would be a newer method with new concepts, but it is a good method. Here is a tutorial: http://wafflelikescubes.webs.com/rouxmethod.htm

I don't know much about ZZ, but here is a tutorial: http://cube.crider.co.uk/zz.php

Good luck with any of these! :)

Does anyone have better OLS algorithms for these cases?

I learnt F2L and 4LLL a month back. I've been trying hard for 1 month but my F2L doesn't seem to improve. I'm still averaging 50-60 secs. I've seen people getting sub-40 with F2L and 4LLL.
Please Help me....What should I do

Post a video and we'll be able to give you some more specific advice. The general is don;t try to turn fast just turn when you see pieces to solve and always be looking for the next set so you don't stop turning.

you need to look ahead. when are doing a pair of f2l start to look for the next pair. This will help you to get sub-40. And you need to practice at least an hour a day.

How many unique cases are there for when you have F2L-2 and the unsolved slots are adjacent front and back slots with EO solved? eg. R U' R' U' R' U R sets up one case.

Is there also an average HTM and QTM movecount known for it?

(8100-36)/4 + 36 - 5

I think it's 2047 (not counting cases with a pair already solved)

idk

Don't forget he might've learned from the 'original beginner's method' on youtube that I and many other speedcubers learned from. Where for top layer, you solve EO, EP, CP, CO.

My lookahead is really bad. I tried turning extremely slowly without timing it and looking for the other pieces, (I can solve all F2L cases eyes closed btw) but my lookahead feels like it has got worse, not better. Are there other ways to practice lookahead efficiently? I also use ZZ.

Do you ever just drill left block or right block?
