unfortunately i cant go at a competition in this months, so, have you tested all the 2 cubes? if is a yes wich you prefer? thanks

I prefer the air, but the valk is what most people are likeing, with a similar feel to the Yuexiao. The air tho, reminds me the other gan cubes and has the same essence.

@Berd did an Ao1000 at 20 seconds once.

It just depends how much you feel like practicing and how fast you want to progress. You'll almost definitely progress faster if you want to practise than forcing yourself to do so.

I wasn't improving for a long time, then I discovered I was only doing about 3-5 solves a day.

I did 20-50 solves the last few days of just F2L, and I use to average around 18-19 seconds, but now I am down to around 15-16 seconds. So obviously I wasn't practicing enough.

Where is a good place to buy cubes online with a low shipping price to Canada?
I've bought from one small cube store in Canada back in the summer of 2014 I believe but I don't remember what it was called and it probably doesn't have as many cubes as you may want lol

My times are getting kinda sluggish. My lookahead just got bad and my TPS is doing anything but making up for that. Should I take a break? I'm really frustrated about this because I'm not consistently averaging sub-12 anymore. If I should take a break, how long should it be? I'm going to a competition on October 8 so it can't be too long but I also don't want to fail all of my 3x3 solves there like I did at Nationals *extreme exaggeration alert, I did like a quarter second worse than I expected*

I find that whenever I get frustrated with 3x3 I just start focusing on a different event like 4x4 or skewb (love skewb but my PB is like 5 secs and I avg like 10 ) Anyway, just focus on a different event for a couple weeks. And when you come back to 3x3 you'll be as determined as ever.

are you sure you aren't sabotaging me in case you go to Dixon Fall? jk :P

That works for me too. And just don't care. But that's general cubing advice for not sucking.

Nah, I'm not even going to do 3x3 because I doubt I'd make finals And it look like I'll really have to try if I'm going to do good in 2x2 cause a lot of fast 2x2ers are on the list... Plus I'm still struggling to get OKish with all the other events so I can make the cut-off...

At Dixon Winter, 8 people made the finals and the cut was a 12.3 average. I'm speculating that they might do 10 this time, and even if they don't you've got a good shot. If you are going, compete in every event you can do as long as it won't take an unreasonably long time, especially this one because there's a flat registration fee. I'm doing every event (trying BLD for the first time because I got a success a few nights ago, maybe 10% chance of a success)

Thanks for the advice though. I like 5x5 more than any other big cube so I think I'll spend some time practicing that. Sub 2 globally would be nice.

I'm Not doing every event...
2x2
OH
Mega
4x4 if they have it
5x5 if they have it
and squan if they have it
I suck at BLD only 1 out of 4-6 solves are successful so not doing that one.
I'll consider 3x3 I just feel super tense whenever I'm solving a 3x3 in front of people (I guess I'm just more comfortable w/2x2 and Pyra)

that's about 4 events guaranteed and I feel like that's a good amount. (More if they can't get some more competitors.) Especially if I advance in OH (I most definitely will advance in 2x2). but we'll see.

How do people solve the F2L cases set up by doing
1) R U' R' U F' U F U'
and
2) R U' R' U2 F' U' F
?

I've always done
1) U y' R' U' R y U' R U R'
2) y' R' U R U2 y R U R'

but two rotations for a single F2L pair = bad, and I figure there must be a better way.

You can do (2) like:
R U2' R' U R U R' U R U' R' or
R U2 R' U' R U' R' U2 R U R'
which are pretty nice but I just made those up on the spot you might want to check out algdb.net

for the second case just do it like Roux
M U r U' r' U' M'
use JustinTimeCuber's alg if you want to keep EO

for the first one you could do sledge U' double sexy, but that's a lot of moves

EDIT: found a dumb alg
B' sledge B R U' R'

1) U2 sledge U2 insert
or
R2 D r' U r D' R' U R'

2) R U R' U2 R U' R' U R U' R'
