It depends on the case, sometimes is good, but some others isn't,but that thing that is sure is avoiding double turns at all cases.

I'd say that in most cases it's better than rotations so I think you've got a good habit.
I was thinking of during a normal solve(cause I HATE cfop rotations) of instead of regripping, slamming the cube down on the table and regripping with one hand, then bringing up my other hand and continue solving(maybe , to save time, doing some OH stuff on the way up, idk)

I just mean that if I picked a particular OLL alg, I could keep repeatedly performing it until I saw one I wasn't sure about.

e.g. performing an alg which solves OLL 32 gives OLL 40, and repeating the alg for OLL 32 cycles the cube back to needing OLL 32 solved again.

Make sense?

(But yeah, it probably depends on the alg because of AUFs.)

no one of the edge orientation ones for 2LOLL. those ones wreak havoc on the last layer.
also, dont do any 2-gen ones, thosell only give you the seven OCLL cases.

No the EOLL will cycle after at most 6 cycles for fruruf or 4-flip. There are almost definately algs which cycle after more like this one which takes 9: F R' F' R U2 R U2 R'

I made a script in python for training CMLL's you could adapt to this: it gives you a random set of algs(Tperm, Yperm, bowtie, 2genbowtie, T, U, fruruf, etc, just algs that you know from before) and a random set of AUFS(about 40/60 chance noAUF to AUF), and prints it out like this:
alg (AUF?) alg AUF? alg AUF?
and the length is random from a range.
when I get home I can send you the code stoic, Ill show you what to modify to make it better for OLL.

A few years back I'd delved into speedcubing but then I haven't touched it for a while. I wad just starting to learn full PLL then. Anyway, this time I want to do it religiously. Some of the algorithms I have come across that I tried to learn are not very smooth (like you know, they aren't right for me), and then, some of the videos that I checked out have the word "old" or "new" in their title (like badmephisto's OLL and PLL learning tricks). Does that mean that the algs are outdated? Can you good people point me to a site where I can find a good algorithms and a bunch of different ones for each case? Is the speedsolving wiki a good source or it's it outdated? I'm asking this because when I clicked on the video link next to the H perm, it opened a video that had "old" in the title.
Sorry of I rambled.

Speed solving wiki is perfectly fine, some algs are good, some are bad. Even if its outdated, if it works for you, its fine. I find badmephisto's OLL and PLL still fine, you could probably get good times. If you get used to it, it will be fine. (Unless you got used to a super bad alg) I dont think there is such a think as an outdated alg, or fingertrick, it just means they developed a slightly better one. If an alg is bothering you, then just change it.

What are typical split times on 3x3? I average 14 seconds and my cross takes ~1.7 seconds on average, F2L about 7-8 seconds and last layer about 4-5 seconds. Of course they can take longer or less on a really bad or good solve, but these are averages of 100 I just did. Cross was between 1-2.2 seconds, F2L 6-9 seconds, last layer 3-6 depending on the solve.

could you recommend a site with modern, good and updated algs? Speedsolving wiki seems fine but I don't wanna waste time this time around. Thx for pointing out the typo, lol. Iffy keyboard app...

I actually think badmephisto's algs are mostly outdated. For OLL you should check http://algdb.net/.
Wow just Five minutes before I read tgis part, I'd discovered that video. Badmephisto felt very difficult to get the hang of. Drew does a good job in the video. The best part of relearning after a two year gap is that I find myself to be color neutral. Well, what do you know, right?

having the same prob. ive been cubing for 2 months now, and i know f2l and 2- look oll and pll. I don't know how to get faster at F2l, it takes up 30 seconds and my avg is 45.

algdb.net is better than the speedsolving wiki. I use it for ZBLL.
although for PLL it doesn't really matter because PLLs are pretty much the same everywhere

improve efficiency and lookahead for f2l. learn more algs for ll

WOW, 45 secs is too long. I used to do intuitive before and I was sub 35 (although got 45 avg in WCA coz I was anxious). Join cubers subreddit. They linked me to this--
. Also get a QiYi Thunderclap or something.
