Triple sledge does preserve orientation
thealgorithm i posted is a little more efficient.
ok ty it doesn't work for me though
is it in the FR slot?
so the algorithm youre looking for is the one to twist a corner already placed? what I would do is that algorithm, then to another corner insertion algorithm to put it back in oriented. the triple sledge/sexy doesn't twist it in place, it takes the corner out of DRF and puts it in URF, while preserving it's orientation.

Total noob question: when you're looking for pieces, do you mentally say the colors you're looking for? For example, if I need the blue-red-white corner and blue-red edge, I find myself mentally pronouncing the colors so I don't get confused -- but it kinda feels it's slowing me down. Is this something that just goes away with practice?

Yep. Just like going so this piece goes here, here , here etc rather than i need to do R U r U' L F' etc.

Alternatives to E-Perm that is fast and easy to learn? Mine is x'[(R U' R) D (R U R')] u2 [(R' U R) D (R' U' R)] and i find it too long and i hate small letter moves.
Alternative to Clockwise 3 Edge Rotation? Mine is R2 U (R U R' U') (R' U') (R' U R)

Do fast (world class) solvers ever memorize some optimal 20 move solutions just in case they come up. If so, what's the most someone has ever memorized and have any come up.

No. this has never happened, and certainly never will. In order for you to have even a 1/1000 chance of encountering a scramble that you have memorized, you would have to memorize 43,252,003,274,489,856 algorithms. And then of course remember which alg went with which case. Also, most (>99%) scrambles can be solved in less than 20 moves optimally

Also also, at the highest of levels, CFOP and Roux for example will probably be faster to execute that the move-optimal junk that such a solution would consist of.

Yeah, that move-optimal thing is for robots, not humans. Even robots resort to super-fast on-the-fly calculation of the suboptimal solution and not to storage and recall as the database would need more atoms than the universe has.

Not only memorization would be absolutely impossible for even 1 billionth of that, also it would be impossible to identify which scramble is which during the 15 second inspection. Not to talk about recall time.

Hello.

I already know COLL and I use it for solves with the Fridrich and ZZ methods, but I started getting into Roux recently. For Roux Corners, I can use COLL for now, but I guess CMLL is slightly more optimized.

Any ideas for which algorithms it is most useful to learn the CMLL version even though I already know the COLL version? Any favorite CMLLs that save time compared to the COLL case?

Also, I don't know the Sune and Anti Sune COLLs except for Niklas, so I guess I could learn the CMLL cases for those ones as well.

Yep, you'll want to learn Sune/Antisune. Other useful ones to know are F sexy F', diag Pi, and maybe F R2 D R' U R D' R2 U' F'.

Cool, thanks a lot. I really like the F R2 D R' U R D' U R D' R2 U' F' alg. I should have known myself about F sexy F' and F sexy2 F' because of the 2x2. :-)

I think I'm going to switch to Pikashit, at least for OH.
I was using petrus/ZZ for OH, but the LL algs always take me a long time. SO i timed myself with LSE instead, and Im faster with one hand. But the petrus block building is nice. And the second step of pikashit is actually really smooth, because you solve one pair while tracking the last corner(1 piece to track-- pretty nice actually.)

And also the roux blocks are hard for me to fingertrick OH. and since roux is my main, I decided to use pikashit instead of petrus for OH. I started today, and my OH times are starting to improve to be less than one minute(finally)

anyone think this is a good Idea? or do y'all think I'm just a hipster, trying the non-mainstream methods? I really want to know what you think.
