When you make a x cross you make half the cross and a f2l pair do I use a f2l pair that was in the scramble or make a f2l pair.
Obviously if there is an F2L pair in the scramble you use it. If there isn't an easy way to form a pair while building the cross, you wouldn't use an x-cross.

Why can you get parity when solving after you took center caps off? This doesn't make any sense to me, centers don't affect the puzzle, so how can parity occur because of them?
It's difficult to explain. It's like, after removing the center caps you are getting one more degree of freedom when solving the puzzle and, hence, parity (like only two swapped edges) can occur. It's like you enter a whole new subset of possible cube states. If the caps where still on you would see that, e.g. you solved white on yellow center and viceversa and you also have orange and green centers swapped and blue and red swapped too. It the same as when you can have only two edges swapped because there are also two swapped corners (eg. T-perm). Why do corners affect edges? Same question here, why do centers affect edges? Because... they do. And even if you removed the center caps the cube still "knows" :)

Please, some of the good cube theoricists in the forum give a more mathematical explanation :) I would like to hear it too.

What are the rules for avg100 and avg50? I didn't find them anywhere. In particular: How many are crossed out?

Top 5% and bottom 5% are crossed out, rounding up So for avg100 it's top 5 solves and bottom 5 solves, avg50 it's top 3 and bottom 3. avg25 and less i think is only best and worst solve

I was able to learn a new Z perm algorithm in about five minutes. Is that abnormal for a sub 50 solver who only knows LBL?

The alg is: M2 u M2 D' M' S2 M

Based on my experience learning full PLL while averaging 60, that's about how long an easy alg should take to learn. You may have to relearn it for another five minutes in a day or two if you don't use it regularly. Longer algs may take up to 10 to 15 minutes, but that's about it.

Also, there are more comfortable Z perms than that one.

M2 u M2 D' M' S2 M
Eventually you will get faster at learning algs.

But meanwhile get a better alg: that one is really difficult to fingertrick
Try
U2 (R U R' U)(R' U' R' U)(R U' R' U')R2 U R
or
M2 U M2 U M' U2 M2 U2 M' U2
Instead

Where can I find advanced 4x4 edge pairing, like how crazybadcuber did in his 4x4 yay method overview?

How could i record my self with just an iPhone would i need to buy a phone stand or a go pro or something ?

I might be the noob here, but can someone give me a simple algorithm for turning a single centre piece on a 3x3 by 90 degrees?

Is that even possible? If I remember correctly you can only rotate one center 180 or 2 centers 90.

Whenever I'm on customer trying to do the scramble i can never do it right am i doing it wrong F would be a clockwise face and R would be the right layer turned upwards D would be turning the bottom layer to the right and i do it like that but i never do the scrambles right I learned the notation of of Crazybadcubers tutorial on it.
