Hi,
I was looking at the fridrich site binghamton. What does the notation Fs and Ls mean? In the legend it says Ls= LR' what does that mean. I know R is turn right side one quarter and L' turn left side counter clockwise. What does Ls, Rs, Fs etc mean?

I think its the equivalent of M, E and S respectively.

So when I see the notation Ls=LR what sides of the cube do I have to turn? I am from the Netherlands so I dont get it quit as good

Middle, Equator, and S I think is Slice (I'm not sure about S)
I think S is sideways/side as all of them refer to slice moves

I would guess they mean wide moves where you turn two layers of the cube at the same time

What is the fastest way to solve the last layer? When I solve the last layer I use the following algoritms to complete the yellow face:
(F, R, U, Ri, Ui, Fi) i= inverted
(R, U, Ri, U, R, U2, Ri)
To position the yellow corners I use
(Ri, F, Ri, B2, R, Fi, Ri, B2, R2,Ui) if there are 2 yellow corners already good positioned I make sure that they are at the back of the cube when executing this. To finish the edges I use
(F2, U, L, Ri, F2, Li, R, U, F2)
If 1 edge is already good I make sure it is at the back of the cube. This is all stuff of the layer by layer method? Can I do this faster?

A saw some youtube videos in slow motion of speedcubers and it looks like they are only turning the top, left and right layers. I rarely see them turning the back or down layer? Do they also turn the whole cube? Some websites indicate holding the cube in a different position with the letters x, y and z.
Do pros also do this?

Yes, rotations are fairly common. Most of the time B moves are slow, and D/F moves are only good sometimes, so people rotate to avoid using them.

I saw some example solves from zemdegs on youtube. What algoritms do these pros use to solve the last layer? Do they use the ones from the fridrich site or do they get those algoritms from other websites?

And do pros memorize all those algoritms?

Only if they use CFOP or another essentially Freefopish method. There are other methods which don't use all of those and are still fast like roux or PCMS or a couple of semi experimental methods like speedheise (or a few that i came up with that have significantly fewer) or other methods which have more like ZZ or ZB (if you learn the 1LLL). I'm pretty sure feliks knows far more last layer algs than just OLL/PLL as well as some last slot cases

Anyone now a 2gen alg for last layer cross using U and R moves i can find one anywhere for oh solving.;-)

There isn't one. 2-gen algs can't affect edge orientation, only edge permutation. You'll need to use F or B moves if you want to orient edges.

You can use something like r U2 R' U' R U' r' though, which isn't quite 2-gen, but it's close.

Hi,
I am often stuck on PLL, the yellow face is complete but I have to solve PLL. Despite these two websites:
http://algdb.net/Set/OLL
http://algdb.net/Set/PLL
I often end up with a case where I dont know wich algorithm from the PLL I should use. I turn the top layer and for instance I see that 2 green corners are correctly positioned and the rest of the edges and corners not.
But when I turn the top layer further I can position the blue and red edges correct but then the green corners are for instance on the orange face. I can put the green corners back to the green face but then the blue and red edges are not at their correct colour face. How do I solve PLL?
