Roux Method Final Step

Hi, I've been cubing for a week and am capable at the beginner method. However I always get stuck on the LSE part of Roux.

I manage to solve the L and R sides but I often find myself in a situation where the DF and UB faces (or equivalent faces in directly opposite positions) in the right places but wrong orientation. Am I going wrong somewhere or is there an alg to solve this?

I'm fairly confident that I doing the steps on youtube tutorials etc. Keep find myself in this situation though.

Thanks.

Are you orienting the edges before placing UL/UR?

Is there a certain alg set that works for the LL where there is a solved 1x2x2 block on top and all edges are oriented? Essentially you would have 3 corners and 2 edges left to solve, and half(?) the time you would just have a l3c case.

Thanks for the reply, I believe I do it in the following order:

Build the 2 blocks.
Orient the 4 U corners.
Permute the 4 U corners.
Orient the U-Face.
Complete the L & R faces.

I then find myself stuck without fail. Have I mixed some steps up or am I just currently incapable of completing this final step?

Forgive me if I use inaccurate terminology!

Cheers!

Beginner Heise step 3 (EP*5 and then CP*2)
so i'm doing step 3 as 2 parts right now with EP*5 and then CP*2 and then step 4 commutator.
at L5C i have a 3-cycle and 2 pure CO. what do i do? do i just try to avoid this?

Here's the problem - you need to orient all of the last six edges, not just the four on the U face.

I see!

Does that just mean that all of the U and D faces should be the same or opposite colour as their centres?

Thanks again.

Yes, although make sure the centres are either solved, or an M2 from being solved. It won't work if you have them an M/M' from being solved (unless you use misoriented centres, but that's a more advanced thing)
