So folks, what J(a) perms do people like? I've experimented with a couple of algs off the wiki, but it's really the only PLL I hate. I just can't seem to find an alg that agrees with my hands!

Anyone got a J(a) that they absolutely love? And please no R' U L' U2... I can't even sub-3 that alg!

If you feel the need to do so, an execution vid wouldn't go amiss! TIA

I can't get enough <RUD>
I used to hate RUD until today. Then I decided that because I can't wait until christmas to get a square-1, I was going to learn some PLLs with <R2,U,D>. Here are the A perms:
R2 U2 R2 D R2 U' R2 U R2 D' R2 U' R2 U' R2
R2 U R2 U' R2 U R2 D R2 U' R2 U R2 U' D' R2
I love them; you never have to regrip :)
Edit: F: R2 U R2 U D R2 U2 D' R2 U2 R2 U R2 D R2 U' D' R2
I got that one from this which I found, and I'm going through what Cube Explorer has generated for E perms now.

Shorter RUD A-perm if you'll allow l' as RUD: l'UR'D2 RU'R'D2 R2

Then front/back mirror for the other.

Edit: just noticed you said R2. Count me out then :)

Great, thanks! Brest's alternative alg is good too. Which do faster cubers prefer?

This is popular:
R U R' U' (y') r' U' R U M'

Also try these:
R U R' d' R' F' r U M
R' U' R U (y) r U R' U' M

If you like this alg:

You can try it like: (R U R' U') x' D' (R' U R (U' D)) x

fixed: R U R' U' x' U' R' D R D' U x
or: R U R' U' x D' R' U R U' D x'

take note that you can execute the original alg the same way. The x rotation is unnecessary or can be partial if needed.

L' U R' (z) R2 U R' U' R2 U D (z')

Can also do the z first and RUD the first 3 moves, but I like to do the z during the U R' bit. The last U D can be done as one move of course!

Yeah, I've tried this one, but I'm not keen - it's the same alg with a Z to convert the L turns into Us and Rs into Ds. It's nicer than the original, but all too often I find myself U2 away after OLL. By the time I've recognised, done my U2/aufed, then Z, I'm already seconds behind. Ideally I'd like to find an alg that doesn't require a cube rotation.

Someone suggested F U' R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' F', which looks promising. I haven't had time to play with it yet, busy few days.

It's just one of those things, when an bad solve ends in T/H/U/A/etc. I can make up for some lost time with a decent PLL. When it's J(a) I'm stuffed! :fp
