Alright. I have a important question for you guys

I am getting my Guoguan Yuexiao in the mail tomorrow, and am nervous about me getting it. I have had this YJ Guanlong for about 2 months now, and it hasnt been lubricated once, and i have only cleaned it once. It is a very very slow cube, because there is all this white buildup, and a full force flick is 90 degrees, and it barely BARELY cornercuts.

So do you guys have any tips on like, getting used to the speed of a Guoguan yuexiao, I am practicing 2-look OLL fingertricks, but my cube just cant really hold up to the speed I want to go, and I have been cubing many many many hours on this YJ Guanlong. So basically how should I get used to the speed of a Guoguan Yuexiao, practicing fingertricks on it? Just doing some test solves a lot?

When I first got mine it was uncontrollably fast (for most people it isn't, but I have a slower turning style), and I tightened it a bit and lubricated it with a bit of Cubicle wt. 4 and now it turns at a controllable speed but it doesn't have quite as outstanding corner cutting (still pretty good though)

Im getting cubicle premium. But yeah will it just take a long while to get used to the speed? And lilke fingertricks and shtuff?

I had a Tanglong before (it broke) and the YueXiao was similar. It didn't take me long to get used to and once I did I dropped around 0.2 seconds and it helped me get global sub-12. Switching from a Guanlong may be harder, but if you tighten it some, it shouldn't be that crazy. My Guanlong is bad, and I think with budget cubes they can be completely different feeling from each other.

Yeah, it has this white stuff all over the pieces (probably from no lube and its soooo dry and slow and BAD lol.

The only reason I actually got a cubicle yuexiao instead of a tanglong is because it seemed like a newer better cube, and I have seen and heard that the tanglong actually wears out extremely fast, like doesnt last long.

But anyway thanks man

im starting to average just under 20 seconds should i start learning f2l algs if so where can i find some for zz or should i wait a bit longer?

Yea so I learned the beginner method and i wanna where to go from there and what guides i should use to go from there. I have looked at cfop and other methods but i dont understand much. Help please?

I would suggest you start by learning F2L. It will probably be hard and make you slower at first(I took a minute to just do the F2L stage at first), but it's what will really give you a speed boost once you get good at it.
There are quite a few good guides on F2L on youtube, but I learnt from SergsB's.
P.S. Badmephisto's guide on how to improve is pretty good.

I've recently become colour neutral and am working on advanced cross. I know which colours are opposite which and which colour pair (red/orange, green/blue, white/yellow) is adjacent to which, ie if blue or green was front face and white/yellow was top and bottom, I know red/orange are on the left/right faces. But if I specifically knew what colour the front face was and what colour the bottom face was I could not tell you exactly which colour was on the left (or right) face, only which colour pair. I think this would be relatively easy to learn if I solved the cube with one colour on the bottom each time, but being colour neutral means I will need to learn it for all 6 faces. I assume this fairly essential knowledge?

Does anyone have any tips for how to learn which colour is on the left and right sides individually when you know the front face and up or down face colour?

Thanks.
try going on to cstimer, selecting 3x3 and easy cross, this helped me recognize my cross and my times dropped 2-3 second from that and now im sub17

Yea so I'm tryna get to sub 20 so I want to know which method was easiest for you guys to learn and links plz?

lowest alg counts for each method which i can get sub-20 with (i can do it with this number of algs)
CFOP: probably ~15-20
Roux: 9
ZZ: 12
Petrus: 12
SSC: 10
PCMS: 9
FreeFOP: 15
M-CELL:9 (but a lot of intuitive is here)
3-colour redux: 6
Roux-CFOP (Tao Yu style)- 9
ZZ-roux: 9

So these are the alg counts i know can get you to sub-20 but there are varying amount of tps, lookahead and intuitiveness embedded into all of these. The ones which i would say are easiest to get sub-20 with (based on alg counts, tps, blockbuilding ability and intuition among other things such as EO or technical knowledge) are probably Roux, CFOP, and PCMS.

SSC might be interesting (though it depends on how you come at the method and mostly based on how you can get insanely low movecounts a fair amount of the time as well as a lot of lucky cases but i'm not sure i would recommend it to a beginner as it has not been fully proven and the technical stuff can be a bit demanding (though if you start with it it might be natural in a way blocks is to someone who started off with blcokbuilding) 3-colour redux could be interesting to try but again I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to a beginner.

Be sure to take into account that i tred to be neutral for the first two paraghraphs but but was not quite objective in the third.
