do people usually set green as F and yellow as U while scrambling?
(i'm back to cubing and can't remember many simple things)
No officially Green as F white as U

I have no idea of how to do f2l easily . Does anybody have any websites or links which give an easy and not complicated explanation of f2l.

Badmephisto has a video

If you don't get it, you just need to think about how to move the edge piece or the corner piece so that you have a 2x1x1(edge+corner) bar, which you can insert in to the normal corner slot. It takes practice. There is basically two types, algorithmic (learning the pairs by following algorithms) or intuitive (do it how you think it should be done, no algorithms).

How many hours did most pros put into cubing in total?
From the they started till the point there like sub 9? How many
hours practice does it take?

the fastest we know of to go from noob to sub-10 (or 9 now is it?) is PDF who took just under a year to reach sub-10 and just over for sub-9 (Ao100wise)

It's safe to say that most people will take at least 3 years of consistent practise (~1000 solves a week) to attain sub-10 but this can vary a lot

Personally, I think it would be quite interesting to know how many solves it takes on average to reach that mark and how much a cuber improves per 100 solves to see who is the fastest improved in that regard.

These days nearly every speedcuber uses CFOP or the Fridrich Method, so what happens is that it is extremely hard when using the same method to be faster than someone or get a really quick time compared to otthers. Does anyone know any other methods that are extremely fast(around 30 seconds), but are not really complicated.

Almost any method can be sub-30 and a lot can be sub-20. If you want another fast method I'd suggest looking at Roux, ZZ, PCMS or ZB

Does anybody know an algorithm on how to flip over and edge piece without affecting any of the other pieces on the cube?

A single edge piece? This is impossible on a 3x3. If you get this case you'll need to take your cube apart an reassemble it solved. If you want to do this on 4x4, try this algorithm:
r U2 M' r U2 r U2 r' U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 r' U2 r', where r is a slice move. This flips the UF edge.

Hi,
I know full PLL. When is it time to learn full OLL? Some websites say that you can get sub 20 easily with 2 look OLL. And
I also read some cubers dont learn full OLL for years, when should you learn full OLL?
I currently average around 35 seconds, I thought that the earlier I learn full OLL, the more I could practice those algorithms, the faster I would be able to execute them?
Should I continue to learn them or am I going to fast?

Learn them as soon as you want. Just two pieces of advice:
1) Learn good algs from the beginning
2) Don't rush to finish learning the 57 cases because you'll end up not following advice 1)

... and I know what I'm talking about. I have already changed some OLLs but I just can't get rid of some bad ones. I will have to get serious and put the effort to learn new ones but the current algs are so ingrained in my muscle memory that it's gonna be tough to switch.

What are good algorithms? Are their bad algorithms?
What is the difference between good and bad ones?
Where can I learn good algs? I learned some from algdb.net
I also learned some from bapmephisto website.
Is this good?

The only real difference between is a good and bad algs is how fast a person can execute the alg. Most will get their algs from algdb.net

Good algorithms are generally shorter and/or more finger trick friendly than bad algs and is somewhat subjective.
AlgDB is good, they will generally give you 4 different algorithms for each case, so you can chose which one you like best.

Hi, i just got traxxas 50 k differential oil. Is this only for lubing the core? Or can I also take out an edge and put 2 drops in the cube? And if you put 2 drops in the cube, what is the best place to put the drops? On the corner pieces or edge pieces or somewhere else?

If you don't have other lube it's ok to lube the pieces. The only problem is the lube might become sticky if you leave the cube alone for a while. So if the cube has been sitting there for a day and you pick it up to play, it is a bit hard to turn for the first few solves. After playing with the cube for 2 minutes it should be much better. I think lubing the pieces with traxxas 50k is still better than having no lube.

I also learned some badmephisto's site and I feel I got some bad algos ingrained in my muscle memory. I'm trying to change some of them and trust me it's not easy. It's definitely better to start with the good algo.

In my opinion, a good algo should have the potential to be executed faster, although at your currently level you might not be able to. There are 3 important aspects:
1. Fewer steps is definitely a plus.
2. It's good if each move of the algo requires a different hand or finger. The reason RUR'U' is easy to do is you use right wrist to do R, right index finger to do U, right wrist to do R' and left index to do U'. There's no repetition. Avoid things like FU because you need right index to do both F and U. In this case you might consider doing the F with left thumb.
3. Avoid ones with re-grasp. If there's a y in the middle it's usually problematic, unless there isn't any better algo. Also I don't like any algo with d or d'.

If you are new you might think some algos that use tricky moves like B, D and S are bad. I would actually suggest not to shun them, because by practicing you can do them as fast as R and U.

I'll list some algo that I don't like from badmephisto's site and what I do instead. I omit some mirror cases. I'm not sure if I'm 100% correct with the U layer orientation so you'd better double check with http://algdb.net/Set/OLL
P3, P4: S(RUR'U)(R'FRf)
L5, L6: LF'(L2B)(L2F)(L2B')L
A1, A2: R2U(R'B')(RU')(R2U)(lUl') ---(It's just changing the last 3 move from RBR' to lUl')
A3, A4: (y2)MU'F'(L'U'LU)FM'
L3, L4: (y')M(RUR'URU2R')UM' ---(This is faster because you can do M and R at the same time)
C2: (RUR'U')B'(R'FRF')B ---(Use B' and B to avoid the x in original algo)
I2: (R'U'RU'R'U)(F'UFR) ---(Use left index to do the last F because UF is hard using only right hand)
K3, K4: rU'r'U'rUr(F'UF) ---(FUR in the original algo is just too unfriendly)
O1: (y) (RU'R2D')(rU'rD)(R2UR') ---not really shorter but more friendly
O2: (y) (rUr’U2) (RU2R’U2) (rU’r’)
O3, O4: (y) MU (R'F2) (RUL'U) M'L' ---(The last 2 move M'L' can be done simultaneously)
O7: (y') F'(rUr'U') S (r'FrS') ---(Much shorter. If you're used to S this should be fast)

HI,
I just got traxxas 50k diff oil, but how do I use it?
There is the bottle with a big hole where the fluid comes through? How much do I have to use?
And do I just squeeze the bottle until the lube comes out the hole of the white button?

I think the "learn good algorithms" advice puts the questioner in an unfortunate catch-22. You won't really know if the algorithms are right for you unless you spend a considerable amount of time using them.

My advice is to learn full OLL as soon as you want and don't agonize over the algorithms too much. Full OLL with a few mediocre algorithms is still better than 2 Look OLL.

Once you have them all down, spend some time evaluating alternate algorithms for the ones that you find most awkward to execute. Take your time and don't fret too much. You're well into diminishing returns for your efforts at that point.

Anyone know how to learn algs fast. Id like to learn all the g perms before the nationals on december 6. Any help is apreciated. I have algs id just like to know how to learn them quickly
