Hey peeps.
I want to know what to work on/do to get sub 10
my cross+F2L takes 9 seconds on average.
My last layer avg is 4.8 seconds. I know full PLL half of OLL and I'm learning ZBLL now.
I guess my F2L needs to be done by around 5-6 seconds to get sub 10?
How to get my F2L sub 6 is my real question. How do I do this?

I've been doing my cross on left, because I've read it's the most efficient way. But is it still good when I'm doing my F2L on bottom? Should I change my cross orientation to bottom? Or maybe everything is OK and I just should keep practising my way?

Either do f2l on left then rotate for ll or do cross on bottom. Cross on bottom is probably better.

Ummm... Where did you read that it is most efficient to solve to solve your cross on the left? I mean, shouldn't it be basically exactly the same no matter which side you solve on because of all the symmetries of the cube? Because this would destroy the point of CN solving if it isn't and also be pretty revolutionary as well...

It's like every orietation is good but after a long research he came up it's the best way. That's because we are given the most optimal solutions.

I thought it could have been truth because it was written by former Polish NR holder. (I didn't know pretty much anything about cubing, so you know)

I think what he means is not that there are more optimal solutions if one is to do the cross on the left in the sense that the average number of moves taken for each side is the same but rather that it is most fingertrickable to do the cross on the left side as it is more ergonomic to do R, Rw, U and D moves rather than the F, B, R, L moves that are in the standard D face cross.

To this end I completely agree, but would still like to stress that the move count would still be exactly the same on average (you can just do a rotation)

Need some help with my speed.

So I have been sped cubing for a few months now and I know f2l, 2 look oll and some pll. My pb is only 1:02.38. Is there any ways for me to get sub 50 in a week or maybe even sub 20?

sub-20 in a week?

I'm just about 20 globally and it took me 3 months of hard, proper practise. :-P

Anyway, here are a list of my tips:

1) Drill yourself on each step. Instead is doing full solves, do solves where you just practise one step over and over again so you can get that step as move count efficient as possible (this is most important go cross and F2L). Also drill yourself on the recognition for each step so that you don't pause between steps.
2) Untimed solves. Do solves where you do not time yourself so that you can turn slowly and develop a good lookahead so you can somewhat predict the next step and eliminate pauses (particularly the OLL while inserting the last F2L pair) and well as improving efficiency.
3) Slowly increase tps. This is to ensure that you don't get stuck with bad habits and sloppy efficiency or turning technique as these will be difficult to correct later on if you become set in your ways.
4) Eliminate pauses in your solve. Basically repeating myself from above but I wanted to stress how important this is.
5) Practise, practise, practise! I do 50-100 solves a day timed as well as many untimed solves to get my efficiency better. This is probably actually lower than many of the other cubers on the site, especially the world standard ones.

One other point is that I might advise you to look into other methods to see if they suit you and your style of cubing more.

Hope this helps! :-)

Has anyone made a one handed CMLL set? I am looking to use roux for one handed but alot of my CMLL algs are terrible for one hand.

I use CFOP to solve, and am fully CN. However, I use ZZ for OH. I am y/z2 (or x2/y) CN. Are there any perks to being fully CN with ZZ? I only see cons to it (stress during inspection, general harder EO recog, etc.)

Inspection wouldn't be too hard, since there are only three possible orientations to check. If you're CN for CFOP and so don't have any problem doing F2L, and can plan EO in inspection, I think it should easily be possible.

In an ao5 the best and worst solve doesn't count, same for ao12 right? What about ao100, using csTimer I saw more solves marked in brackets. How does this work for aon, n any natural number?

I believe it's top and bottom 10% are eliminated when calculating the averages (or as close as possible). This is in contrast to Mo or mean of where all the times are averaged together without pruning for outliers

qqTimer and csTimer use top and bottom 5%, and they round that number upwards rather than being as close as possible.

Unless you meant that by "top and bottom 10%", in which case sorry for misunderstanding :p
