Just to clarify, I don't know full pll. I know 2 LOOK oll and 2 LOOK pll.

You could get sub-15 or even, theoretically, sub-10 (or sub-12 at least) with 4LLL but I would suggest you to learn full PLL before you reach sub-30 and full OLL before you reach sub-20. Of course, there are people that has delayed the full OLL part until already (much) faster than sub-20. It all depends on how fast your fingers are and how good your memory is. I am more of a memory guy so I learned those algs sooner than that (full PLL when sub-50 or so and full OLL when sub-30).

EDIT: Well, to be honest, I think I procrastinated on learning the four G-perms a little longer than sub-50. I think I was about sub-35 when I learned those. And, yeah, maybe I was missing like 4-8 OLLs until a bit later as well :)

Now that you still can do it. Please be careful when selecting your PLL algs. I learned some pretty awful ones and I can't find the willpower to learn new ones. In particular I hate my V-perm and both N-perms.
The Cubologist has some great algs for the N perms! One is very easy to learn too!

can i get sub 20 with a cube that is worse than a rubik's brand cube?

My PB with an old Rubik's (not the new ones or the rubik's speedcube) is around 24 but it's been a long time since I did that. Probably I could do around 20-22 right now. A sub-20 solve is certainly possible but globally sub-20 I really doubt it, unless you are a top cuber.

First 20 speed solves with my Rubiks Brand. All sub 17's were full step.

Is that an old Rubik's with 0 corner cutting? I've heard that the newer ones are a bit better. Maybe I should try again with mine. I didn't think it was even possible to get a 14.xx with that piece of junk.

EDIT: I tried again but with mine it's impossible (for me) to go below 24 unless in a lucky solve (PLL skip or something). It's really a brick.

Yeah they are. Mine can corner cut about 30 degrees, but it can't reverse corner cut 10 degrees. I just did an Ao12:
12.32, 14.51, 14.52, 11.82, 13.58, 13.64, 13.59, 11.79, 11.95, 20.88, 14.92, 16.08 = 13.69
Definitely better than an old Rubik's Brand :p
