Anyone know how to learn algs fast. Id like to learn all the g perms before the nationals on december 6. Any help is apreciated. I have algs id just like to know how to learn them quickly

1- Do the alg, looking at both the algorithm and the cube. It's always good to know the moves, but if you can see where the pieces/blocks are being moved around on the cube this can help you remember the alg better. Repeat this about 6-12 times slowly, and 6-12 times with faster turning.
2- Now hide the algorithm. Repeat the algorithm as you did before, but only look at the cube - don't look at the alg on screen. Again, do it 6-12 times slowly and 6-12 times quickly. Enough for you to remember it, either by muscle memory or not.
3- Now do the same thing but without looking at anything. Being able to do algs without looking is what you're aiming for if you want to have fast execution, so practise this step the most. Execute it a few more times than before if you really want to get confident with it.

If you find you can't remember the algorithm at any stage in steps 2-3, then go back to step 1.

Can someone tell me,
if you lube your cube with traxxas 50k differential oil, how much do I have to use?
And where exactly do I have to apply it? When i take out an edge piece, do I have to apply it on the back of the corner pieces, or at the core itself?
Or when i turn the up layer 45 degrees, a part of the second layer sticks out, should I apply it there?

While doing F2L, when I can see only two sides of a corner piece, how do I recognize the color of the third side of that corner piece without looking at it? how do I master it?

Well, in theory you could recognise it from the positioning of the other two colours. In practise though you sort of end up doing it automatically. Sorry if this isn't very helpful but it's the best answer I have.

The best way to learn it is to search on youtube and see how other people do it. It's hard to describe the way to apply lube with words.

A general rule of thumb is to apply a tiny bit and see how you like it after a day. If you apply to much you end up having to dissemble the whole thing and wipe the lube off. If it's not enough you can always put more in later.

There are actually some Chinese posts that discuss this in detail. And a guy actually did a Excel macro file for people to train on this. I guess you can ask some of your friend to translate it for you? Sorry I'm really busy as a PhD student.

I just realized that the practice Excel file cannot be downloaded unless you're a member of that forum. I've downloaded for you. The file is in Chinese but it should be very straight forward.

Hi, I just got a gans 356, how do you disassemble it? Can you just take out an edge piece like normal?
Because the mechanism is a bit different.

So you take out a center cap? And then take out the edge and corner pieces? Or remove the whole basket around the spring?

Hi there. It's been 2 years since I read or wrote something in these forums. I was still cubing but only to keep my abilities at the same level. I have started again to practice more seriously. One question though : What is THE 3x3 nowadays ? I'm still using my good old white Zanchi and a Moyu (I think it's a weilong, can't remember the name, it's their first 3x3 with which Feliks did some WR).

Thanks !

Nowadays I think the consensus is that it's just personal choice cause all of them are so good. Atm people seems to be favouring Gans 356s, Tanglong and Guhong
