I love my Maru. Never misaligned and it's super crispy. I don't get why everyone hates maru. If yours misaligns just tighten it. Works very well. I prefer Maru over the other kinds by a million miles.

Tensioning a Zhanchi

I got a Dayan Zhanchi 3x3 a couple of weeks back. And I love it. my average has practically halved now. :D I wanted to adjust the tensioning on the cube just a little bit, but I can't move loosen the screws. if I can move it at all, the layers themselves turn. any help?

DeathCuberK, you wee right. just a little more force was needed. for some reason the white face's screw was wedged in tight. I've chipped it badly and it simply won't move now. can I get that screw alone replaced or will I need a new core?

For me, after learning all 21 PLLs and learning to recognize them maybe dropped my times by approx 2 sec although this wasn't over night :D Learning 21 algs can be tough sometimes but you'll manage in the end. I know all of the OLLs and even that wasn't to hard when you actually start.

I currently average 28-30 seconds on the 3x3. I just can't get a sub 30 average of five (my best is 30.27...)

?

Chuck some more lube in and those layers should start feeling better.
After you learn full PLL your times should drop by a few seconds on bigger cubes than the 3x3x3 since each turn takes longer on them.
