Hi, I am beginner for about 4 months. Using 3x3. Average about 60-70 seconds.
This is my think 4. new cube - GAN 356X V2. I had it about 1 months.

This cube is not tight enough. It is to soft.
I thought that is not loose like that. I set on highest setting and still I can put finger between cube corner/edge and rotate corner and edges with fingers.
Why is that loose?

I have cheap QY3031 cube, which is great and sometimes I am faster than this GAN cube. Because gan cube is so loose that sometimes stuck when want to rotate a side.

That was why I bought this cube, thought that have so many options for setup, but higher settings are too weak for me, and no setting to become more tight.

So, tell me is other GAN cube so too loose? Is there some tighter?
There should have been more IPG adjustment components that come with the cube. if that doesn't work, then just lube the cube to be at a speed that is suitable for you. Fast, I would recommend Weight 1 and DNM. Slow, I would recommend Weight 5 and Silk. If you like setting up cubes to be perfect, I would recommend Gravitas in the tracks and Dignitas on the actual piece, plus a bit of DNM of Lubicle-1.
These are all lubes from www.thecubicle.com, and you can have a lot of different lube combos to make your cube the best for you.

Hello all,

I am using the Gan 12 Maglev and am loving it. What is the best setup for those who have either this cube or one with similar adjustment settings like tension and magnets? I know most will say the best is whatever is most comfortable for me, but I am just curious to see what people mostly use that are really good at speedcubing. Do you prefer your cube to be loose with minimal tension and weak magnet strength or opposite?

I was wondering the same thing, I can't experiment with settings because whenever I try the pieces pop out =/

putting this thread at the top becuase I actually need the answer to this (and i'm assuming vinnylo26 does too)

my center travel is set to 3, and my tension is the loud click(setting 1). for magnets, i am using the hexagonal ones on the lowest setting.

I use the top thingy on the lowest setting and the bottom thingy on 2 or 3, and finally weak corner magnets. It works well for Roux and CFOP

For mine, I use the top ring on setting 2 and the other one three clicks from the big click. For magnets, I use hexagonal corner-core and strong corner-edge magnets.

Edit: if you want to know what lubricants are good: For my specific settings listed above, I use weight 1 on the groves in the pieces and Lunar+Stardust from SpeedCubeShop.com

Okay, so I have a problem where I try to find a set-up tutorial for a certain puzzle, and that tutorial either doesn't exist or uses lubes I don't have.
This thread is to explain how you would set-up a puzzle, like a megaminx or 7x7.
I'll go first:
I lube my Yuhu Megaminx V2 M with angstrom gravitas, dignitas, and DNM-37.
I start by cleaning the puzzle. Then I either lube the core and put it back together, or I just put it back together.
Next, I will take out an edge and add Angstrom Gravitas to the track of the edge. Then I put it back in and break it in with a solve or two.
Then, I add Dignitas. Same break in as Gravitas.
Finally, I add DNM-37. Same break in as the Angstrom Lubes I mentioned.
The result is a relatively fast yet controllable puzzle.

Now it's your guy's turn! I can't wait to see what you use as a set-up!

I don't have a 7x7 but I have a megaminx

And I average around 35 minutes( ik pls don't judge me)
And I don't use fast lubes on big cubes because I want it to feel more controllable so I use like 2 drops of dnm with some weight 4

If anybody here has an X man tornado V2, what settings do you guys use? I currentsly use 2 in the inner ring and 1 in the outer ring and it doesn't quite feel right.. I want to try out other people's settings too

And idk if this is the right thread to post this on but yea

Hi, so I got a question. Should I use medium or strong springs with dnm-37 lube?I have a valk 3 elite

If anybody else here has an X MAN Tornado V2, I would like to know what settings people use.

I currently use:
Screw depth:2
Spring: 1
Magnets: 3

I’ve just purchased an MGC Elite 2x2 along with the new DaYan 5x5. Both seem to be very good puzzles, but definitely need setup. I’ve never been too experienced in proper NxN setup, so I‘d really like some advice for what I could do to these cubes. The MGC is locking up a bit too much for me right now, and the DaYan is just a bit too slow. I put Cubicle speedy in it, which helped a bit—it feels like it may need loosening as well.

I also got my hands on a Steven’s Little Magic pyraminx. Out of the box I’m having some issues, but I’m hoping that proper breaking in will speed it up a little.

Nice! I'm also planning on buying an MGC Elite. What do you average on 2x2?

Right now I’m usually sub-5. I used the Qiyi for awhile, but lockups had been making it a very difficult event to do at all. I think I need to improve turning style as well, but for 2x2 I don’t really know where to start.
Do you know Ortega? If you do, I'd suggest to start learning CLL. First you make a permuted layer, then use one algorithm to finish OLL and PLL.
If you don't know Ortega, then learn that first.

I use the Qiyi currently, my advice is since it doesnr have any customisation features, just loosen the screws until it isn't too stiff and it won't pop. That's what I do. Also, know your cases and spam TPS

The MGC is naturally a very very stable cube, and for me I've found I can't get good results on it because of that. With that said, loosening the tensions, as well as lubing the core will help quite a bit.

I do currently use Ortega—learned years ago before I went on hiatus. CLL seems like a big next step, but I agree that it seems very worth it going forward, haha.

Is spamming TPS just practicing individual cases a lot?
