My Aosu arrived, and I decided to take it apart to check out everything, and when I put it back together, the centers are catching on a weird bump on the core. I'm not sure the purpose of the bumps, but they are rendering the cube useless.

Just wondering, I came across an old 4 cube of mine after who knows how long, and got stuck when trying to continue from where I left off. If anyone's willing to share some advice, I've unfolded the cube in a sketch.

5x5 Splits?

So I need some critique here on some of my typical, 3:40ish 5x5 splits. For reference, I average 25 on 3x3.

First 2 Centers (F2C): 25
N2C: 35
L2C: 10
First 8 edges: 55
L4E: 45 (it varies a lot, this is probably slower than usual)
3x3: 40

So what are my splits like? What should be improved upon? Also, I can upload a video if you want, but I'll put it in the Solve Critique thread.

If there is a thread out there for this, sorry, but I couldn't find one haha.

Your F2C should be much less. Your inspection time should be about your whole centre.
The last 4 centres should be at least sub 30. Focus on making one single centre while looking to make the other ones easier.
Train your first 8 edges to be under 50 that seems good enough on average.
Last 4 edges (you said it varies so I don't know but usually under 20, average).
3x3 is complicated at times but could be really easy so focus on getting that under 25 at most.

You shouldn't need to focus on anything in particular at this point. If you just do a few hundred solves, you'll almost certainly be averaging below 2 minutes. Regarding what Pandadudex96 said, I wouldn't worry about your 3x3 stage too much: as long as you can do your parity algs fairly quickly, there's a lot less you can do to improve your 3x3 stage than your reduction.

I just now learned a better 4x4 OLL parity (Rw' U2 Rw' U2 Rw' U' R' Rw' U2 R2 U' Rw' U' R' Rw2 U' Rw' U Rw') than what i was using before (Rw U2 Rw U2 r' U2 r U2 l' U2 l F2 r' F2 Rw' U2 Rw' U2) because the slice moves for the old one were awkward and slow, unlike the new one which has much less regrips and awkward slice moves. I was able to use the old one for the 5x5 edge parity, but the new one messes up the centers a little and the centers of the pairs (you can try it and you will see what i mean). I am trying to find some 5x5 edge parity algorithms which only use Rw, U, and R, i don't care if it messed up any of the 3x3 stage because i do parity first. I have searched all over the place and haven't found any. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Have you ever tried this 4x4 OLL parity alg? Rw U2 x Rw U2 Rw U2' Rw' U2 Lw U2 Rw' U2' Rw U2 Rw' U2' Rw'
I don't really know which one is faster, but that's the one a lot of fast people use

x Rw U2 3Rw' U2 Lw U2 Rw2 x U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 x' U2 Rw2 (14)
Rw' U2 3Rw U2 Lw' U2 Rw2 x' U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 x U2 Rw2 (14)
Rw U2 x Rw U2 Rw U2 3Rw' U2 Lw U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Rw' (17)
Rw2 B2 U2 Lw U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 x U2 Rw U2 3Rw' B2 Rw2 (15)

Here's some 5x5 parity algs, copied from Meeps website http://meep.cubing.net/l2e.html

I like that 4x4 parity alg better actually and i really like the 3rd 5x5 parity one that you posted, plus they are the same except one move so i will basically only need to learn one. It will also help with 7x7. Thanks! :)

I know DavidCip86 gave you something useful, but just to answer your specific request, <U,Rw,R> solutions (with absolutely no inner slice turns) will probably be especially long on the 5x5x5. We can get away with quite a lot on the 4x4x4, but the 5x5x5 is a different story.

We have had the following two optimal <U,Rw> algs for the 4x4x4 (which I assume you have seen before) for a few years now (found with k-solve):
Rw' U' Rw U' Rw U Rw2 U' Rw2 U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 Rw U' Rw U Rw' U' Rw U2 Rw' U2 (34,26)
Rw' U' Rw U' Rw U' Rw2 U2 Rw2 U' Rw U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 Rw U Rw U Rw' U' Rw U2 Rw' U2 (34,26)

Ben recently found an optimal alg for the 5x5x5 with k-solve, but look!
Rw U Rw2' U' Rw U' Rw' U Rw U' Rw2' U2' Rw' U2' Rw U2' Rw' U Rw2' U' Rw U Rw' U' Rw U2' Rw U2' Rw2' U Rw' U' Rw' (42,33)

I found some <U,Rw,R> algs by hand just now for fun, and they're long:
Rw U2 Rw2 U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Rw2 U' R U' Rw U' R2 U Rw' R2 U' R U2 R' U' Rw (36,26)
Rw U2 Rw2 U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Rw2 U' R2 U' Rw U' R U Rw' R2 U' R2 U2 R2 U' Rw (38,26)
Rw U2 Rw2 U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Rw2 U' R U' Rw R U' R U Rw' R' U' R U2 R' U' Rw (35,27)
Rw U2 Rw2 U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Rw2 U' R' U' Rw R U' R' U Rw' R' U' R' U2 R U' Rw (35,27)

I'm not sure how long you would have liked them to be, but they will most likely be longer than what you want anyway.

I do white and yellow in my first 8 tredges, for recognition. Well, almost all the time unless I spot a good F2L tredge.

what? that means your flipped edge is usually in the f2l, unless you don't use white cross (but then why would you pick white and yellow for building tredges...)

for 6x6x6 if i have a flipped f2l edge after edge pairing i'll put it on the left and then put a yellow edge there and do (2U' 2D) R U R' F R' F' R (2U 2D') to 'move' the flip to the yellow edge, and then do whichever parity alg I need to do on the LL, to eliminate the possibility of having to do parity algs during edge pairing and OLL, but obviously that doesn't really carry through to 5x5x5 because no OLL parity :P

Thank you! I do understand what you mean with it being hard on 5x5 to have short alorithms using moves which i requested. Like you thought, they are longer than what i want and i think that i will stick with david's. I appreciate that you answered my specific question though and explained that they would be longer. Thank you!
