Hi all, I've been looking for 'comfortable' PLLs, or a way to combine a d/d' move without a regrip, to replace my two weakest PLLs - V and F.

I'm still using Badmephisto's algs for about 18 PLLs, so:

V - [R' U R' d'] [R' F'] [R2 U' R' U] [R' F R F]
F - [R' U2 R' d'] [R' F'] [R2 U' R' U] [R' F R U' F]

I can execute these pretty well, but get REALLY thrown off by the d'. I just can't seem to manage to regrip and execute smoothly.

So anyway, tried a few algs from the Wiki, and have fallen in love with the F perm with nested T perm (R' U' F' [(R U R' U') R' F (R2 U' R' U') (R U R')] U R) - seriously, why have I never found that alg before? There's at least a second gone from my clumsy regrip.

Anyhow, looking for a V perm alg in the Wiki hasn't thrown up anything that I immediately like in the same way. What are some 'popular' V perms; any links to a good vid/tutorial, or anything like that? Does anyone have an alg they really like?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried these ones: clicky

What is the algorithm for: (All 4x4)
1) 4x4 parity where one edge (as in solving like a 3x3) on the last layer is flipped
2) Swapping 2 last layer edges opposite to each other eg. Red and orange swap
3) Swapping 2 corners at last layer

z (D' R2 D R2) (U R' D' R U') (R U R' D R U') - SPOT ON, exactly what I was looking for. Took me about 15 minutes to work it out, but nicenicenice! :-)

From Brest's link, which apparently is the original source of the alg! Not that it matters - JSkyler has some pretty good algs, keep meaning to steal his ccw A perm, as mine has a nasty cube rotation which, when added to AUF time, is just ugly! He does some good tutorials, especially the xcross and avoiding cube rotations series. Bit beyond me atm, but I'll get there!

Here are two. Same case really but no need to flip one of the edges. If you can show some pictures of cases you need algs for I'd more then happy to get them I just don't want to waste time finding algs for cases you already know. Also I know the diagram is not the best quality but better then nothing.

NOTE: " 3l, 3r, etc" are referring to JUST the third right or left inner layer.

Could I get an algorithm to flip 2 edges on a 4x4 using only the R and U faces(R, R', Rw, Rw', U, etc)? I used to always scramble/solve my 3x3 using R/R'/U/U' and i tried doing it on my 4x4... after about 10-15 minutes i solved everything except for 2 edges that are flipped. Help would be appreciated!

I messed around with M2 (3BLD edge solving method that sometimes produces very short algorithms) on a 3x3x3 and came up with this:
U R U' Rw2 R2 U R' U' Rw' U' R2 U Rw' R2 Rw' U' R2 U Rw
It flips FR and FD, you can add setup moves to flilp any other edge (for example, if you want to flip UR instead of FR just add a R in the beginning and R' in the end).
I'm not really sure how it will work on a 4x4x4 though and if it fits your description of R U faces, because I think you'll need to use REALLY wide R turns (3 layers wide instead of just 2), didn't have time to check.
