Torque Required

I have a torque screwdriver ( 1/4 ''....10-50 inch lbs.) I was wondering that if I would adjust the tension springs of my 3x3x3 Moyu Weilong, what should be the optimal torque that I should apply. There is a way to find that out...........by checking the torque of a new cube.......but I don't have another one.

Tensioning help

Hello everyone i'm fairly new to cubing(about 1 month best time 1:22 avg5 is 1:40) and my only cube i have right now is an Alpha V 3x3 but it pops so much and i hear that tensioning it properly will fix that but i don't know how to tension and don't want to mess up my cube even worse than it already is.

EDIT: nevermind i just ended up using camcuber's method and it seems to have worked so far, haven't had a single pop yet since i tensioned it :D

Zhanchi Stickerless Retensioning/ Beginner Help

Okay, so i began cubing about a month ago with a Rubik's brand cube and learned the beginner method. I later got a Zhanchi Stickerless and am learning the last bit of 2 look PLL. But as the title says i need some tips with tensioning and overall cubing. The problem i am having is whenever i tension it to my liking, it cannot corner cut at all after 1-2 solves. Another thing i am curious about is that the torpedoes are making marks on the corners. If you would like to IM me add me on Steam with the name Zaedeor.

WeiLong cubes were not affected by this. It was discovered a while back that some Amazon sellers who 'sold' Zhanchis were actually sending/giving the buyer a cheaper cube that actually wasn't a Zhanchi. I think it was determined to be one of the YJ cubes.

No, it was from Ebay, and i will not be buying off Ebay again. I did buy a Guhong v1 off Amazon though an it still hasnt come. I looked inside my zhanchi and there are no washers to be found though.
I wonder if thats the problem.

Take some pictures of the pieces and post, so we can check if it's a legit zhanchi.

In the future, buy from a cubing website, such as thecubicle.us or hknowstore.

If the washers are a problem, you'll hear a creaking sound when you turn from the spring rubbing. I don't imagine it would cause a ton of performance issues.

Okay, and yes i do hear a creaking sound sometimes. Would the washer missing cause it to un-tension itself?

I doubt it. Untensioning would be the screw loosening which i don't think the washer would affect. The washer isn't small enough to be threaded by the screw. It's just there as a buffer between the plastic and the spring.

The only way it would untension is if something in the plastic is keeping the screw from freely spinning, so when you twist a side, it unscrews rather than just spinning. I'm not sure how this could happen though.

There you go.

I am having problems with my weilong . I have been play around with the tensions for a month now and it can't even cut 40 degrees.
Also I can't get it to make my tensions equal

Most effective ways to tension a cube

So I have a YJ SuLong, and I've been having problems with the tensions. Most of the screws are crooked, making the normal ways to tension ineffective. I've tried to search for other threads that have effective ways and tutorials on YouTube, but nothing really helped. Do any of you have ideas or suggestions? The only one that kind of worked was Cyoubx's tutorial... except that the SuLong has REALLY GOOD Corner Cutting, and can sometimes even go Line-To-Line (Over 45 Degrees)

Note: I actually have a set of DaYan ZhanChi Springs, but they're a LOT longer than the ones in the SuLong. Would it help?
