Make it tighter. It helps a lot.

i tighented it a bit and i have only gotten one of the small internal pieces pop in about 30 solves. i think it helped a bit but i will see how many more pops will happen after 100 solves.

Try not to turn so roughly and force it to do turns that it can't do

yeah im quite inaccurate especially on algs like parity so i will work on that

on another note, its kinda slow, i already lube it but it didnt help very much with the speed.

Have you tried swapping out the springs for softer ones? I've had pretty good results with that using Dayan 3x3 springs IIRC, I think others have also reported good results with WeiSu soft springs, and I'm sure there's other options too.

no i dont have any extra springs but i may order some with my next shipping

My Aosu also pops a lot. Seems most of them are fine, but some of us unlucky ones just have to deal.

Lots of light lube and tightening will help. And looooots of breaking in will also help. You'll also get used to avoiding a pop by turning better, or feeling a pop coming and adjusting. But it might never fully go away. My cube still explodes every once in a while, usually when I haven't cleaned it in a long time.

So i recently got an aolong v2 from cubezz.com and its great but.....
for some reason the corners kinda 'wiggle' alot. It doesn't really affect solving but its just kinda annoying when i am just holding the cube. Is this normal or do i just have a weird aolong v2.

My aosu makes these springy eerie sounds when i 'pull' the pieces to check tensions and when solving and its reallyyy anoying! This shouldnt happen bcos the sprind doesnt move. Does anyone have an explanation for this or how to remove it?

Tensioning Help

I bought a DaYan ZhanChi two weeks ago and changed its tension a bit looser as it had very little corner cutting and nowhere near 45 degrees but thereafter, it kept popping and so I tightened it and it gets too tight. This keeps happening with the cube being either extra tight or loose in 1-2 specific centers making it pop at times. I watched videos to tension it but I couldn't do it using the 45 corner cut technique. Can anyone suggest a way to evenly tension all sides to enable proper corner cuts without pops ? I haven't lubed it or broken in.
( Also one of the centers creaks and gives a springy sound when turned, anyway to fix it too ? )

Well, Crazybadcuber has a great tutorial on how to lube and tension a dayan zhanchi. You lubricate the springs and screws with some sort of silicone oil which gets rid of the creaking centers and springy sound that you said. Then you put it together and you tension it, but you don't put it together first. You put the centers into the core and there should be a pennies worth of room between the core and the center. This works for me everytime. You then put it together and while doing that you lube a few pieces. It might seem confusing, but i'll link you Crazybadcuber's video on how to do it, as well as a good deal for silicone oil, because you don't want to use vaseline or silicone spray.

P.S, he says a DIY kit zhanchi, but just take apart your cube and follow the tutorial like that.

P.P.S, he also uses lubix, but any sort of heavy silicone lube works.

I kind of live in Asia so the silicon oil has to be imported and is much more expensive in my currency but it's lesser than Lubix 10cc.. However. I did locate the same product on Amazon for my country and I'd buy it for Christmas if it's worth it. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. Also, I want to know stuff about types of triggers and how to use them in F2L intuitively, is there an existing thread about it ? If so can you direct me to it and if not, which section do I make a thread about it ?

(P.S. How much quantity of oil do you get in that link product ? )
(P.P.S. I'm finding that the Moyu aolong v2 is being praised to be much smoother than the ZhanChi.. After lubing and tension can I expect the turns to be similar to the AoLong because my friend has bought one and I don't want to lose against him just due to the cube)

Edit :
Also, Maru lube isn't too expensive and he used it in the video, but it is effective all the same ? And it doesn't have to be applied in the center ?

Well, there is a good tutorial on finger tricks and triggers but there isn't much of a way to use it in f2l except for triple sexy when an edge is in its spot. So i'll link you a trigger video and a intuitive f2l tutorial. With the silicone oil i linked it is 50cc of lube which is a lot of lube, it will last you more than a year, unlike lubix or cubicle.us lube, which is a lot more than traxxas. Traxxas gets you the best bang for your buck. The zhanchi is quite an outdated cube and the aolong is better, but the zhanchi is still a good cube, and the aolong won't make you a faster solver, so I wouldn't worry about losing to your friend just because of the cube. I would recommend sticking with the zhanchi until your about 20 seconds, and then you should buy a better speed cube. I would recommend instead of buying a new speed cube every week, you can get a 4 by 4 or a 2 by 2, and even some non WCA puzzles, like the rex cube or helicopter cube, which are really fun. Or some weird cubes, like the rubik's clock or rubik's magic. Lastly, maru lube is great, but it wears out very quickly, it wears out after only 5 or so solves, so you have to keep applying it every second. I also wouldn't recommend applying it to the centers because it will make it is too liquid like to be used. And you did complain about the spring noise in the zhanchi, which maru won't get rid of. Maru gives the cube a fast feel at first, but wears out quick. Traxxas oil will be a little slower, but it lasts forever in a cube. Traxxas and maru lube together do work great though. Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for your help, I'll settle with the traxxas oil. It does work for all cubes right ? ( I've got a rubiks brand 4x4 and 5x5 which I can't get rid of, so might as well lube them ) And do I apply the traxxas too in only the outer or also the inner core ( near screws ) ?

On another note,
I'm averaging 40-45 seconds with intuitive F2L and two look OLL and PLL. Which would be better to learn to improve times more drastically, Full OLL or PLL ?

Yeah, traxxas works great on any cube for the most part, it works really good on big cubes because it lasts longer. With bigger cubes i would only really recommend lubing the pieces because it takes forever to lube the core. If you want to though, just lube near the screws. With smaller cubes, just follow crazy bad cuber's tutorial. Also, for your times, I would recommend working on f2l for now to get it better and while doing that you can learn full pll and a few easy oll's, but mainly work on f2l and learn a new pll or easy oll alg every 3 days- a week.

Thanks a lot again. I have a last doubt. You said that it's better to lube pieces for bigger cubes, what about for the 3x3 ? Do I put the traxxas in the screw to stop it creaking or will it make it worse ?

No, what I'm saying is you can lube the core on bigger cubes, it will just take a long time, so I recommend lubing the pieces, but if you want to you can lube the core. Putting traxxas on the screw on a 3 by 3 or any cube will stop the creaking sound and make the core spin faster

I've noticed something about the ZhanChi after a lot of solves. Certain faces start loosening themselves after 1-2 solves, is this normal ? If not, is there a way to fix it ? Because I gave up on tensioning for the moment and left it at a tight-ish config. and it keeps loosening..
