I think you should first learn 2-look pll and 2-look oll. After one - two weeks of practice you will be much quicker. I would suggest you to learn the 2-look oll and pll algorithms from
this page http://badmephisto.com
After this you should learn the full Pll. Here is were the advantage learning of 2-look pll comes. It may be easy for us to learn because after learning 2-look pll we will know some of the algorithms. After learning the full pll then go to Oll and practice practice and practice you will definitely get into a sub of 20 sec.

Hope this helps.

There are 57 oll algs. Is it necessary/ possible to learn them in a month at the max? is there some other alternative method? I have also noticed that there are only 8-9 algs for all edgess oriented. How do i get the edges auto oriented?

You can easily learn them in less than a week.

learn zbls or vhls or zz method

How do i recognise pll cases quickly? It's like iam rotating the cube several times and then i find the case and execute an algorithm. Is there any trick to recognise them or is it just practise?
And the nuber of pll cases is 21 or 23? some sites show 21 others show 23. this sounds silly but what are mirror cases? I guess they are the laterally inverted cases. Do both of them use a same algorithm?
Oh and i learnt 2 look oll. All say learning full oll is necessary when u get sub 20 only.
Thnx:)

You could try using this or just figure out how to recognize all PLL cases from only looking at 2 sides (F and R faces) of the cube. Practice will help too but just spending a few hours figuring out how to recognize all the cases from only knowing 2 sides will help more.

There are 21 PLL cases. (and 1 case that's PLL skip)
Mirror cases is where you mirror the algorithm, for example, instead of doing that algorithm on the right, you do it on the left.

I still don't know full OLL and I'm sub 14. It only takes off 1-2 seconds from your solve.

Thank u yuixxibis:). But I think i am gonna learn 2 look pll and i have learnt it:D! My timings have dropped to sub 40 and would be around 35 as soon as the lube I ordered comes. Oh and I am surprised why the entries have suddenly stopped or is it just my computer?

LL training ??

Hi all just I think about LL with CFOP.

I am about 12/13 seconds and me LL is about 3 and 4 and some people say me that I have to do it faster.
And me qestion is how to practice LL ?? is it only cubing again and again or train only the algs or some thing else ??

Please help me :)
THX for read

Mainly just drill. Find the ones you are worst at and practice them until they are no longer the worst then move on to the next worst case. In some cases that are not most comfortable or feel the fastest you can look up alternate alg to learn. And some you may consider learning different algs so you can do it from different angles.

use a lot of triggers, such as the sexy move (R U R' U') and sledgehammers (R' F R F')
those two triggers combined are actually a oll case (the one with the T)
(R U R' U') (R' F R F')
and some of the oll cases joined together forms some of the pll cases, such as the T permutation and the Y permutation

Where to learn my oll and pll alg?

Title please, I just know 2lpll and I whant to learn full pll but every website seems to have different algs, which are the best?

The best alg is the one you are to perform both quickly and with good fingertricks.

badmephisto.com has a list containing some of the most widely used PLL algorithms.
speedsolving.com/wiki has a lot of algorithms for each case. Try them out.

Some of the fastest cubers have videos on their YouTube channels showing off which PLLs they use, and how they execute each one.

Time to learn.

Learning OLL

Hey guys,

Apologies in advance if this is a repost, but this is a bit more specific than "which OLLs should I learn first."
I'm learning OLL and starting with the "no edges oriented" or "dot" algs because they take the longest using 2 Look.
I learn best by using algs on an oriented last layer to create their mirror and learn them in pairs (probably as plenty of people do), but I'm having trouble creating some of them, which makes it difficult to practice recognising them. I'm learning from Bob Burtons page, so the dot algs I cant work out how to create are 1 and 19... does anyone have a good rule for creating all OLLs in order to practice them?

This may be a little vague but I'm on way to bed and just wanted to post this in order to have some replies by tomorrow :p
Also if anyone has any other suggestions regarding OLL and how you have learnt it, I am averaging around 30 seconds with a mix of algorithmic and intuitive F2L and 3LLL (with about 5 full OLL algs, lol)

Thank you in advance.

You don't need full PLL to get sub 20 times, much less algorithmic F2L and full OLL.
Basically, learn two look OLL.

I would recommend just practicing what you know. I know full pll and 2 look oll (with i think 4 other olls that i randomly found good) and i average around 14 so you can definetly improve massively from where you are without the need for more alg learning

But if you do want to learn oll this thread (http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?41380-When-and-how-to-move-from-2-look-to-1-look-OLL ) gives a guide to the move count savings of each alg over 2 look and would be a good place to start

I said in my post, I know 3LLL which consists of full PLL and two look OLL... I'm asking for help regarding learning full OLL or any other suggestions. No point telling me not to learn full PLL when i'm using it already :p
