Non review related question: is it advisable to lube the aolong with pure silicon oil and how should i do it?

Yes
All U have to do is
Lube the core.... that is ..when you pull the center pieces you'll see the screw screwed into the core, lube that area
Lube the pices .... when the cube is assembled completely remove 1 edge and lube the corner stock and the torpedo,kinda things

Go very light on the lube. It will get gummy very quickly.

A couple of sides had spring noise when I got mine, so I did lube the springs and screws, but I went very light because I didn't want to gum it up.

It's really really difficult to make a gummy core. I've actually dumped lube in mine and it's still not gummy. Pretty amazing.

Really? When I overlube, the core does not turn nearly as freely as before.

I put a lot of lube in the core and mine is pretty fast

I mostly dump it on the pieces. My pieces are like coated.

Maybe I need some lower viscosity stuff. I only use Calvin's High Viscosity and a can of silicon spray right now. I also have maru, but I hate it. I completely coated the pieces of my Guhong v2 in silicone spray, and it turns super smooth and nice. I tried the same with my Weilong, and it was terrible. The Aolong has the same feeling to me.

Get some traxxas 30k, dump a bunch in it. Mine is godly.

You'll be fine, weight 3 and 4 are practically the same haha. I like 30k because it has the long lasting properties of 50k while still being fast like 10k.

That's weird. Mine was very dry from the cubicle.

I don't think they have any lube in it. Mine didn't have any either from the cubicle, like DeeDubb.

I got mine from the cubicle pre-order and it was scratchy dry when I did my first turns.

Yeah, mine was scratchy at first too, but now it's soooo gummy I have to cube with it so loose it pops. And it's still slow (corner cutting is so good I don't want to give it up, though). I even tried giving it a bath, but that didn't seem to help much either.

I wonder if I accidentally melted it. I've done that with a Weilong before.
