Is Yau's method avaliable for 5x5 to 7x7?

I did some 1:5x solves with Yau on 5x5 and a 6:4x on 7x7 awhile ago when I felt like messing with Yau on bigger cubes (With normal redux, I average around 1:40 on 5x5 and 5:45-5:50 on 7x7). IMO it's not as effective as it is with 4x4. (and I'm not just saying that because I'm not as good with it)

so if i were to start speedcubing, should i use yau method or just plain method?

Is it just a matter of preferance, or is there a difference in the speed and time it takes to perform each method

4x4x4 parity algs...

my first post:

maybe i'm lazy.. maybe i'm stupid... but...
i only can find 1 alg for a single parity fix (oll) and its this:

r2 B2 U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 F2 r F2 l' B2 r2

i know this is the same:

(Rr)2 B2 U2 (Ll) U2 (Rr)' U2 (Rr) U2 F2 (Rr) F2 (Ll)' B2 (Rr)2

for me there is no logic in those rythms...

i'm looking for a easy to perform rythm with logic...

any suggestions?

(sorry for my english)

For logic you can find out what causes parity and what has an effect on it. Then use this plus some other logical algorithms (commutators) to create an algorithm you understand.

Or you could just learn the alg.

That algorithm has a weird symmetric feel to it, I like it. It took me a while to fully learn, though.

Can't get last 2 corners right (4x4x4 cube)

I'm pretty new to this :)
But I'm trying to solve the Rubik's 4x4x4 cube.
I'm almost done, but:
there are two opposite corner pieces, I can't get right.
The yellow side is the bottom, and completely solved.
The opposite (white) side is now the up.
But the white-blue-red cornerpiece, is at the white-green-orange corner
And the white-orange-green cornerpiece is at the white-blue-red corner.
How do I solve it?
The algorithm I've learned, doesn't work (U,R,Ui,Li,U,Ri,Ui,L)..

Please help me :)

You have run into a case of [wiki]Permutation Parity[/wiki], which is not normally achievable in a 3x3x3 solve. You will need to learn a new algorithm to solve cases like this. The algorithm that I use is this (with a w suffix meaning a two layer wide turn): U2w (R2w R2) U2 (R2w R2) U2 (R2w R2) U2w
