I bought a Wuque, cleaned it, lubed it, and did a few hundred solves with it. However, I can't do the 3x3 stage as fast as with a 3x3 (~5 secs slower). Did I not set it up correctly, am I not used to turning a 4x4, or will a 4x4 never be as easy to turn as a 3x3?

You have to be more accurate turning on larger cubes. Because there are more pieces corner cutting is reduced and friction is increased. I would say as far as increasing time for 3x3 stage by 5 seconds, it depends on how fast you are at 3x3. If you can solve a 3x3 in 10 seconds but it's taking you 15 on the 4x4, there's something wrong, but I'd guess that anywhere between about 35 seconds and a minute for 3x3 adding 5 seconds is about what I'd expect. Unless you're counting parity in the 3x3 stage, in which case 5 seconds is probably low.

I average 15 on 3x3.
For people like Feliks or Sebastien, how fast are they able to do the 3x3 stage?

About the same as their 3x3 times (I recall a Faz reconstruction recently where 3x3 was 4 seconds), but bear in mind they both use Yau, so that's 3x3 with cross solved, so perhaps they're about a second slower???

I average 18 at 3x3, and 22 seconds at 3x3 on 4x4 (using Yau).

What is the best and fastest method for solving a 4x4 . I recently started 4x4. And i use beginners method.

Try both Yau and Hoya, they're the fastest 2. Almost everyone fast uses Yau now (I think Kevin Hayes used to use Hoya, but switched last year?).

You should try both, and choose which works for you.

4x4's are not supposed to turn as quick as 3x3's. I would practice 3x3 stage on 4x4 to help get your 3x3 stage times down. Hope this helps! -Collin

idk it seams a bit difficult to do but maybe something to do as a bored solve i think it would be mostly intuitive until the finished reduction.

Hey! I avg -1:50 on 4x4, and i can't seem to improve. I'm sub 20 on 3x3,and avg mid- 4 on 2x2.
I avg about 25 on centers i think, 1 minute on edges, and 25 on 3x3 stage. the reson behind the slowness on 3x3 stage is that i use a guansu.

When you're stuck on a cube, the best thing to do is to practice your weak points. It is normal to your 3x3 on 4x4 be slower thab in a 3x3. Saying that, I think you should practice a lot your edges, because it is your weakest point.

What sqAree said, but if you choose not to switch to Yau or Hoya and stick to reduction, there's plenty of room for improvement on the centres and edges. I average 1:20 with redux and my splits are roughly 16-34-30.

For your centres, you should try to be colour neutral. Plan one whole centre and look ahead into the second centre during the inspection, and make sure you know your colour scheme well enough that you don't pause to think about stuff like "wait, does white go above green or below?". (Also applies to Yau and Hoya, except the colour neutrality bit. It's arguable whether CN helps with those methods.)

For your edges, I think it's just plain lookahead training that you need. Even with the beginner's method, you can form two edge pairs in around 8 moves, so at your current level, you don't need very high tps for your edge pairing to get faster. Stop doing timed solves and do slow, untimed solves instead, and always try to be aware of which edges you're going to pair next.

im a beginner with the 4x4 and was about to solve it. however i came across this, not sure which algs to execute to solve.

Thanks! Pictures attached.
