When I twist a face on my cube, that whole face doesn't just turn, it tightens. It's a brand new Shengsoung Shou aurora if that helps

Would you care to restate your question? It is somewhat vague as a cube cannot be tightened from turning a layer.

Dayan Zhanchi Tensioning Issue

Hi! I'm in the process or retensioning my Zhanchi using cyoubx's method, and I find that when I to a test on a face, sometimes one face will cut 45 perfectly with that face and 2 colors, but it won't work with the same face and 2 different core facing me. What's going on? This is getting very annoying and quite frustrating. Am I doing something wrong? Here are some pics to help illustrate.

NOTE: I uploaded the images from my iPhone and they're sideways. Also, I check the cuts by doing a R' Turn.

what i did is i bought a 2 dollar filler guage and tighten all screws with a measure
after all side are correctly balance (i mean all screws has the same measure)
i untighten it by quarter turn of a philips head. all sides and continue to untighten all screws with a quarter turn until my desired results
now all sides can cut 45degrees (not lubed with silicone)

my cube is semi-dry atm.

Trouble tensioning Zhanchi

Im trying to tension my friends zhanchi and lube the core. But I can't seem to get the screw to move?

How can I get the screw out? It's not turning no matter how hard I try.

When you put the core onto the screw push them together hard (not with all your might but put some pressure on it) and then screw. The threading in the core may have needed to be redone.

Thank you alot. Both of you. The preasure helped and so did the tip on the threads. I've got it successfully lubed and tensioned. Almost gave me a heart attack considering I would've had to give him my zhanchi.

Tensioning Problems

I accidently ruined the tensions and now it's completely uneven. I tried PestVic,Camcuber,Cyboux method. Even though it can cut 45 degrees the tensions are so uneven. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

When I tension cube I first tension all sides to max (to point when you cannot screw more without using force) and then untension every screw the same amount of rotations.
Using this method you will have evenly tensioned cube.

Oh, I in fact did misunderstand that. So, tight and/or loose sides may have several reasons, here are some ideas:
1) Disassemble the thing and completely clean it up, apart from the metal parts like screws or springs (Commonsense). Put the pieces in a dishwasher if necessary.
2) Pay attention to equally lubing the core, especially the washers.
3) Carefully sand down parts of the pieces where the mold openings were. For Dayan 3x3s, take the bottom of the corner stems as an example.

A lot of people say on the forums that you should tighten it to its maximum tightness, then loosen it equally on each side. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like it would work quite well.
