[Help Thread] Puzzle Setup / Tension Discussion

My X-man bell pyraminx sucks. IDK if I got a dud, but my knockoff amazon Shengshou is faster and corner cuts better. I have taken it apart and set it up with the tensions and lubes that would seem good, but it sucks. Any help?

Could be that the tensions are tight...
1st - loosen the cube
2 - clean the cube and lube it with weight 5 on the core and use a fast lube on the pieces... This setup should work fine unless you average below 3 seconds.

I've done this. My cube still sucks, even with lots of DNM on the pieces. It's not like it's gummy, it just won't speed up. It might just be from too much use, because I've had it for about 2 years, but I've been having problems for at least a year, and I don't practice pyraminx often.

I dunno... It's probably that... Qiyi cubes suck up a lot of lube... Clean the core and all the pieces properly and give it a shot... If it doesn't work u prbly need another pyraminx

My Bell is the same way. Corner cutting is the worst and I have a SCS setup. I think I'm gonna get the Huanglong.

I'm really liking the Huanglong as an option. Also, it sucks because it's SCS setup and not Cubicle Premium.

Lol, the huanglong somehow doesn't work for me... It broke twice... The caps of the edges come flying apart mid solve... I wouldn't recommend it as this as happened to me on 2 huanglongs

Pyraminx is weird. Some people like the Moyu, others hate it, and the same for the Huanglong and Bell.

I spent my whole one or two hour tensioning my cube but it still has no even tensions! it's so hard to evenly tension the cube.
update : I fixed the tensions, took me around 1 hour again to figure it out.

Problem with GAN 356XS tension slipping?
I've had the GAN 356 XS for about a week and notice the tension changing within a day of several solves.

I reset it but the same happens again.omegle discord xender
I have it on the tightest setting but sometimes the tension is a few clicks of, and other times the blue piece has moved from 1 to 3 on one of them.
I have only adjusted it counterclockwise as per the instructions. It appeared to be untouched when I opened it.

Has anyone run into this? I guess it's a defective cube.
