At the moment, yes that does seem to be the case. One would hope that the community would be outraged enough to help David realise that this is not appropriate.

Sadly it seems not. Both Speedcubedb and cubedb are non-functioning, both resources I use often

The reasons weren't the cost, it was primarily due to Gil leaving the cubing community. He doesn't want to finance something or provide resources for a community he dislikes.

It's not the first time Gil has removed his websites

I've tried my hardest to stay out of this argument and keep to myself but this comment is so disgusting that I couldn't. Are you serious? Like really, do you think that this comment in any way is appropriate given the situation at hand? David acted in a way that's inappropriate, but you should be ashamed to compare that to an international criminal who committed some of the worst acts based on nearly any moral compass anyone could have. This whole thing has gone so far out of proportion and comments like this really display how out of hand this has gotten.

I really sympathise with Gill about this whole situation. It's terrible that he has had to go through this, and I wish he had received more support when he reached out for it.

I am also happy that he has decided to keep his websites up for the community, even though he feels wronged by the community. Takes a lot to do that, and much respect to him for being the better man.

I am still angry about this though, and I hope that the community can reflect to step in when these situations occur.
