He stops supporting his websites etc because he can't handle the situation between him and David Epstein anymore (David said racist things and bad stuff about people with autism). He tried getting the WCA involved but they won't listen either apparently. I don't know Davids side of the story though, but this is what he said in the video. The video is restricted on my school laptop, what's it about?
Oof I heard about the thing with David a while back, what a shame I really liked CubeDB.He stops supporting his websites etc because he can't handle the situation between him and David Epstein anymore (David said racist things and bad stuff about people with autism). He tried getting the WCA involved but they won't listen either apparently. I don't know Davids side of the story though, but this is what he said in the video.
Farewell Gil, thank you, for everything you contributed, participated, and the statement you made here.
To fellow cubers, just a reminder.
While this might started with David, and WCA's response might be questionable, this happened because of us, whoever knew it or at the scene but did not do anything it. We, the community is at fault, to let him felt "it's ok to be a bully" in this community.
I really feel thankful to those members who voiced out and tried to stop bad things from happening, but also at the same time very disappointed that we, including myself, stood by and did not shape the community healthy enough.
Let's make it good this time.
Please stop this, the best we can do is to stop anything like this from happening again, no point penalizing him at this point. Also he is just a trigger, what disappoints Gil (and now most of us) is how WCA handle this kind of issues. So please stop.David, you are a disgusting person. I hope you learn some lessons from this.
You are right. It wasn't the appropriate thing to post, the perceived support given by the WCA to the perpetrator is what is really annoying me.Please stop this, the best we can do is to stop anything like this from happening again, no point penalizing him at this point. Also he is just a trigger, what disappoints Gil (and now most of us) is how WCA handle this kind of issues. So please stop.
If you really do want to penalize him, the best is ignoring him entirely, whether he apologize sincerely in public or jump on you or anything, just ignoring him entirely, no reply, no comment, no like/dislike, nothing, let him be the lone island in the crowd.
True, and I thought the cubing community was one place people would actually refrain from conducting themselves in this way.I think this post sums it up quite nicely

I think overall the cubing community is a lot nicer and more friendly than many with other sports, but each communtiy is prone to bad behaviour. You can never expect something to be perfect.True, and I thought the cubing community was one place people would actually refrain from conducting themselves in this way.
Ig I was wrong![]()
Realistically, what lesson do you think he's going to take away from this? That it's possible to bully someone hard enough to make them exit the community? He might well see this as a victory, not a loss.David, you are a disgusting person. I hope you learn some lessons from this.
