I came across a thread called “non-cubers say the darnest things,” and this was posted by a member in 2009. It’s amazing how fast speedcubing has evolved in a bit over a decade. The 3x3 wr at the time was significantly more than 3 seconds (compared to it being around that time now). That’s why it seemed impossible to solve the cube in such a short amount of time.

Whenever I practice cubing, my apple watch always thinks that I'm washing my hands. It times how long it takes you to wash your hands and its goal for you is to wash for 20 seconds, so whenever I get a notification from my watch saying "all done" (which tells me that I did a bad solve, because I was "washing my hands" for over 20 seconds)
