Beginner, cutting down regrips

hi, im regripping/rotating the cube 3-4 times during f2l, pretty much one for each corner. right now, i have to locate + position each pair in front of me before i can insert them.

i assume that people get pass this by locating their pairs faster + inserting from different angles. if so, do you guys do this for every corner without regripping?

atm i use the few easy types of insertions. employing anything more complex and my solves become a mess. average 45/sec per solve.

any tips?

For your speed, 3-4 rotations per solve isn't bad at all. However, you should learn back insertions like R' U R and similar. Side insertions like F U' F' aren't worth it imo. But overall, I doubt cube rotations are what's holding you back.

try middle->ring, I can't do ring->pinky

You mean ring -> middle? Never heard of middle -> ring before. I've been doing ring to middle for years and it's just as fast as the pinky version. You might have to be more creative with making U' moves, though. I either use my right thumb to push on FUR or my right index to push on RBU, depending if I have to AUF.

I use ring->middle and IMO it sucks. You have to rotate the cube 45 degrees every D2 because you don't have a finger constantly gripping the cube. The only reason why I am not gonna change is because I can sub-1 it already, so there isn't really any point.

I don't do what you're describing. I only make one regrip at the beginning so my thumb is on the front center cap and my left index is on the back center cap. The only disadvantage with this ring-middle approach is AUFs, but it's not that much of an issue IMO.

I can do it ~.6 seconds, BTW.

I have a noob question :D
The most of fast speedcubers after R, to make U, the usually "pick" the corner to make R and pull U. I practiced a lot time ago OH, and my left hand is usually faster than my right one. I am used to do the U japanese style with my left hand in this case. I dont know if my explanation is good enough. Should I practice the first and main method for fast people? Is it faster?
Thanks :)

That should be fine but try to practice both methods.

Have you tried doing it without that slight z' rotation? The way I do it, my left ring and middle fingers are parallel to the BDL cubie. My left thumb is perfectly parallel to/aligned with the front center cap + FL sticker, and my left middle finger is perfectly parallel to/aligned with the back center cap and BL cubie. My cube is pretty much straight and no z or z' rotations.

wot I watched the video again to see if I did a z' rotation and I didn't..? I'm content with how I execute it since I can sub 1 it

Well I guess technically you're not rotating the cube, but you're rotating your hand basically over 45 degrees instead, if you know what I mean. But if you're content, then you're content.

Do I use the wrong finger for finger tricks?

For my right side finger tricks I use my middle finger instead of my pointer finger. Is this bad?

Oh thank God! i thought i was the only one who couldnt do the pinky>ring. Btw have yall seen the way chris olsen does it? He does ring>pinky.
