Could you give a bit more info on how you do 3x3? I might be able to provide further help with that info.

you're not dumb. It's kinda hard to memorize the algs because we're not used to do that kind of stuffi never figured out how to solve a 3x3im kind-of new to cubing. i've been cubing for a few years but never found out how to solve a 3x3. i gave up on soving it after a few weeks. (i know im dumb)
Get lucky. That’s actually all there is to say because otherwise you’d have to learn EG-1 and practise 24/7.Yeah, I know this is a weird question. I use a mix of cll and ortega and wanted to get a sub 1 officialy(I had a chance, but slow turning made me get a 2.6.) I just wanted to get some help. Thanks.
Thanks. I just wanted a chance to get better singles, and people like Ram Thakkar and Zayn Khanani gets sub 1s all the timeif you want a sub 1 officially the easiest way is to just go to a bunch of comps and hope for an easy solve, but if you would like to increase the chance at getting a sub 1 here are a few tips. One looking is very important, recognizing a ll skip costs a lot of time, which if you want a sub 1 you don't have a lot of time, also you can find cool cancellations that can drastically reduce the movecount of a solve. If you want to learn how to 1 look I suggest learning CLL and EG-1 and then doing solves with unlimited inspection and try to 1 look most solves (early on it's ok to skip hard scrambles like no bars), alternatively you can try looking ahead to what oll you get if you don't want to learn EG and you use ortega. Turning is very important when trying to sub-1, drilling algs and just doing solves can help with this. Lastly your timer start/stop can factor into you getting a sub 1 or not, just doing solves can help with this, setting up scrambles and seeing how fast you can do them can also help, but make sure you are doing legal starts and stop
I main 3x3 and 5x5 so noGet lucky. That’s actually all there is to say because otherwise you’d have to learn EG-1 and practise 24/7.
Check the external links for the wikiWhere can I find Guimond algs?
Just work a lot on planning as much as you can in inspection and turning fastI’ve gotten a 2x2 a few months ago and after learning Ortega, I have a sub 8 average. I was trying to find out what I should do to move on, having a goal of getting sub 5 average or even lower.
After a bit of practicing planing, my average went down to about 6 so thanksYeah, you should plan the first face in inspection, and try also figuring out what the OLL will be and which type of first layer you will have (adj, opp, solved). This way with Ortega you won't do pauses between first face and OLL, and your OLL to PBL transition will be much faster since you'll have to look just to the top layer (since you planned which type of first layer you have).
More algs to reduce rotations may be useful too.
I think those are useful skills not only for Ortega but also for more advanced methods (CLL and EG), so I think this is a good way to improve on 2x2.
( I might not be a 2x2 expert though)
Am I right?
Nice advice!
