LBL isn't bad, I've gone back to it from the John method because I've started using CLL.

What have I done by making this thread. Oh, and I do have a question, how easy is it to be sub-5 with just LBL? How would I do it?

It shouldn't be super hard. Practice on your OLL recognition and also practice executing your algs. Learning AUF's is also good practice.

it is pretty easy
try to work on:
- fast ll algs (sub1)
- plan 3/4 to 4/4 of your first layer in inspection
- recognize ll alg and auf the same time
and
- get a good 2x2. the best 2x2 method gives **** times on a rubiks 2x2.

However much I drill the Y-perm, I can't get it that fast :/

That's the difference between world class and not world class. Probably you just need to give it some time, the fast people are fast because they've invested several years into drilling Y-perms.

try the alternate y perm. its one move less in htm and faster on 2x2 imo (but not 3x3)

You think? They are actually both about equally good, with LBL taking longer on the first step and Varasano taking longer on the last step. Also, it is easy to start using CLL once you already know LBL.

not easy i do get 4 sec solves but its rare
