Edge Paring Part:
If the last two edges seem kiddy corner apart, do L' F U' L F'
after that, they should be directly across each other. Do Dd, R, F', U, R', F, Dd'

parity:
If you want, go basic and learn a minimum of two. The OLL Parity and any other ones. Use PLL to get to the Parity you want to fix. This may increase times a bit though,

1) 2Uu, 2Ll, 2U, 2l, 2U, 2Ll, 2Uu, R, U', L, 2U, R', U, R, L', U', L, 2U, R', U, L', U

2) 2Rr, 2B, 2U, Ll, 2U, Rr', 2U, Rr, 2U, 2F, Rr, 2F, Ll', 2B, 2Rr

3) 2r, 2U, 2r, 2Uu, 2r, 2u

4) 2Uu, 2Ll, 2U, 2l, 2U, 2Ll, 2Uu F', U', F, U, F, R', 2F, U, F, U, F', U', F, R

5) 2r, 2U, 2r, 2Uu, 2r, 2u

Number 2 is the OLL parity.

I'm not a fan of the Dan Brown notation of stating a 180 degree turn.

That's why I used RobH0629's Youtube videos when learning to solve the 4x4 when it came to the last layer and parity.

Examples: 2Uu = (Uu)2, 2r = r2, Ll' = (Ll)', etc

4x4 speedsolving tips!!

I just got a 4x4 speedcube. Every time I try to solve it fast I get around 3:30-4:30. I solve the centers then pair up all of the edges(which takes forever because I have to spend 10 seconds just looking for 2 edges to pair up) and solve normally. I am very much a beginner when it comes to the 4x4 so any tips would be appreciated.:)

I practice on the 3x3 almost every day and I have been for quite a while now (several months), so I'm working on stuff like looking ahead and learning more algorithms.

...But what's double edge pairing?

4x4 OLL Tutorial/Algorithms?

Hey
I'm trying to solve the last layer of the 4x4 using the K4 method and they are a couple of things I do not understand or cannot find info on:

* How do I orient the Last Layer corners? What algorithms?
* How do I orient the edges?
* Is there a 2-look method for the OLL?
* What are commutators? How do they work? How do I preform them? When?

All the tutorials I've seen usually refer to the OLL of the 2x2 when trying to solve the 4x4. I have never owned nor even touched a 2x2 in my entire life so I have absolutely no idea what so ever what they re referring to.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. I did. It says "Solve them in one alg with CLL.".
I have no idea what so ever what CLL is, I never used it I don't know what it is and I have no idea how it is applied to the 4x4.
I wouldn't ask if it wasn't that obvious.

CLL is applied to a 4x4 no differently than a 2x2...no matter what size your cube is, the corners still work the same...look it up on the wiki

So basically everyone is telling me that I should know full PLL/OLL for the 2x2 and somehow apply it to the 4x4?
I really don't get it.

Chapuunka already posted a link to CLL on the wiki..look at it and look at the links at the bottom of the page to find algs for it...

I still have absolutely no idea which algorithm I am looking for, what it does nor how to use it on a 4x4.
I mentioned already on 2 occasions that I have no idea how a 2x2 works nor how the algorithmss for the 2x2 is applied to the 4x4.

Is there no simple 2-look OLL method for the 4x4 rather than learning 55+ algorithms for CLL alone?!

How do I solve this case?

What algorithms can I use to solve the last layer?!
